Helping humanity make sense of the world with Physical AI
About us
We are a Physical AI company pioneering a new form of artificial intelligence that is capable of perceiving, understanding, and reasoning about the world. We solve real world problems using the power of AI to reveal the world’s hidden patterns and behaviors that escape our perception. Our vision is to encode the entire physical world. To achieve this, we are building Newton™, the first foundation model that can understand the physical world. Newton fuses multimodal temporal data – including signals from accelerometers, gyroscopes, radars, cameras, microphones, thermometers and other environmental sensors – with natural language to unlock insights about the physical world in real time.

Archetype AI and Infineon Technologies Unveil AI Foundation Model for Understanding Sensor Data 💡 At this year's OctoberTech, we demonstrated Newton, Archetype AI’s large behavior model that combines real time sensor data with natural language. This fusion allows devices to become aware of what's going on in the world around them. Smart home devices, for example, can then understand context to provide proactive assistance and more helpful responses to users' queries. “We're thrilled with the progress we've made in our partnership with Archetype AI over the past year,” said Laurent Remont, Business Line Head for RF & Sensors at Infineon. “Our demo is now up and running, and it's amazing to see how seamlessly Infineon’s XENSIV™ Radar and MEMS microphones, enhanced with AI functionalities, are working together to make devices more intuitive, efficient, and sustainable." Embodied Agents at TEDAI San Francisco 🤖 "ChatGPT is a revolutionary tool, but you need prompts for it to work. We want machines to look at the physical world and discover physical patterns—maybe laws we don't know ourselves yet. This process of discovery without human input, I think, is going to be a real marker of intelligence." Ivan Poupyrev, Dr.

Curious to learn more about what embodied intelligence could be beyond robots? Don't miss out on today's panel discussion featuring Ivan Poupyrev, Dr., CEO and Co-Founder of Archetype AI, Songyee Y., Amit Goel, Sebastien de Halleux, and Shirin Ghaffary at TEDAI San Francisco!
We are excited to share a milestone in our journey toward developing a physical AI foundation model. In a recent paper by the Archetype AI team, "A Phenomenological AI Foundation Model for Physical Signals," we demonstrate how an AI foundation model can effectively encode and predict physical behaviors and processes it has never encountered before, without being explicitly taught underlying physical principles. Have you ever wondered if the universe has a secret language? What if we could crack that code with AI? Today at TEDAI San Francisco, we’re introducing Newton — an AI model that can learn how the world works on its own, just by observing it.

Infineon Technologies OktoberTech™ Silicon Valley 2024 Recap ⚡️ 🔹 Archetype AI demonstrated Newton, a large behavior model that is fusing real-time sensor data with natural language. This fusion allows devices to become aware of what's going on in the world around them. 🔹 Smart home devices, for example, can then understand context to provide proactive assistance and more helpful responses to users' queries. Today these assistants only know what a user explicitly tells them, so they are missing a rich contextual understanding of real-world user activity and intent. 🔹 We were excited to connect with customers and partners, and learn about the ways other companies are leveraging AI. Here is a quote by Bill Gross, the founder of Idealab, that resonated with us the most: "AI will be like water or electricity, ubiquitous. We won't think of a company as an AI company, just like we don't think of a company as an Internet company. Every company uses the Internet, every company uses electricity, and now everyone will use AI as well."

"Newton is a paradigm shift in AI's interaction with the physical world.A single model could replace highly specialized systems by developing a generalized understanding rather than a narrow focus. The tech also opens the door to truly autonomous AI that can adapt to environments and tasks without human intervention." Rowan Cheung

"Currently, most industrial AI applications require extensive custom development and data collection for each specific use case. This process is time-consuming, expensive, and often results in models that are narrowly focused. #Newton’s approach, by contrast, offers the potential for more flexible and adaptable AI systems."
