About us

The Atlanta Regional Collaborative for Health Improvement (ARCHI) is an interdisciplinary, coalition working to transform the region’s health through a collaborative approach to community health assessments and improvement strategies. The collaborative envisions an environment where interests, incentives, and investments are aligned to generate and sustain a healthy population and a vibrant economy for all. ARCHI does not run programs or develop its own interventions, rather ARCHI is the rocket fuel behind others. By helping organizations align their resources and expertise, ARCHI has begun to demonstrate that when the region’s valuable assets, both institutional and community-based are aligned, we can move the needle toward well-being for all. We are shaping a new triple bottom line to ensure that a strong Atlanta will thrive in the 21st century.

In June, the 2024 Georgia Community Health Worker (CHW) Summit brought together 106 passionate attendees to honor the critical work of CHWs in advancing health equity across our state. From care coordination and advocacy to health education, CHWs play an essential role in ensuring that every Georgian has access to the care they need. The summit highlighted several key areas for the growth and support of CHWs. Engaging discussions covered the distinctions between voluntary and mandatory certification, the need for a Georgia-specific CHW definition, and the importance of continuing education credits. CHWs expressed their dedication to their current roles, seeking career advancement opportunities rather than transitioning to clinical pathways. Employers also appreciated a tailored track that addressed their unique challenges and needs. Despite 59% of CHWs holding a bachelor’s degree or higher, many earn less than $40,000 annually, underscoring the need for fair compensation. The summit reinforced the vital role CHWs play and the importance of supporting their professional growth through certification, training, and equitable pay. As we look ahead, it's clear that advancing career pathways, establishing certification standards, and addressing compensation disparities are crucial for the future of CHWs in Georgia. #CommunityHealthWorkers #Georgia #InvertTheBurden

September marks both Ovarian and Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, an important opportunity to raise awareness about these two critical health issues that impact so many lives. At ARCHI, our network of partners are committed to promoting early detection, education, and access to care to reduce the impact of ovarian and prostate cancers in our communities. Each year, roughly 20,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and 300,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer. Early detection can save lives, and it's essential to encourage regular screenings and open conversations about these illnesses. Let’s come together this month to support those affected, spread awareness, and advocate for better health outcomes for everyone.
