We are thrilled to celebrate Ares’ 12th consecutive summer of volunteerism and our 2024 Summer of Service, a hallmark initiative by Ares in Motion that delivers skills- and service-based volunteer opportunities to the communities where we operate. We are pleased to share that over 1/3 of the firm and 28 of Ares’ offices joined in this summer’s volunteer efforts, donating roughly 2.7K hours of service to 45 nonprofit partners globally. Included in our efforts were STEM workshops and entrepreneurial pitch competitions for students, mock-interview sessions for job seekers, local community beautification and tree plantation efforts and grocery donations to food-insecure individuals. We continue to find that employees are inspired when making a difference where they live, work and play and we are proud to continue building on our philanthropic commitments.

At CFA Society Toronto’s 67th Annual Investment Dinner, Ares’ Co-Head of European Credit Blair Jacobson moderated a discussion with Hank Paulson, Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 2006-2009. More on their dynamic conversation below.
I recently had the honour and privilege to have a conversation with Hank Paulson, former Chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs, 74th Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury and Founder of The Paulson Institute, at CFA Society Toronto's 67th Annual Investment Dinner. Nearly 1,000 people in the audience had the opportunity to hear about Hank’s remarkable career at the forefront of both the private and public sectors, and it was enlightening to hear his take on the state of the economy, global trends he expects for the next decade, and the climate transition. Hank, thank you for taking the time to share your many lessons learned with us, and thanks to everyone who joined us live.
