🍽️ Feeding your reputation with Fantastic Catering 🍽️ “Right but… what kind of food do you think they’ll have at this thing?…” You can select a perfect venue, curate thrilling content and book the most rapturous speakers. But the truth of the matter is, when you know the food’s going to be good at a conference, you’re far more likely to attend. A great menu isn't just a luxury—it's a powerful tool for elevating your event's – and even your organization’s reputation! Here’s how to use food to build your reputation for hosting unforgettable events: 1.     Understand the assignment. Know who your guests are - you may even want to conduct a pre-event survey! Do your guests have specific tastes? Dietary restrictions? Preferences? Tailor your menu to cater to a wide range of tastes, ensuring everyone feels included. 2.     Use your Menu to Boost Productivity. Well-fed attendees are more alert and engaged. Research suggests that foods high in protein and fiber can increase productivity and attention spans. A well-fed crowd is a productive crowd! 3.     Turn on The Food Network. Already, sharing a meal can encourage conversation and break down barriers. But a buffet-style setup can allow attendees to move around and try different foods, which can lead to more interactions and valuable connections. It’s connection with a side of culinary delight – guests network AND THEY WON’T EVEN REALIZE IT. 4.     Brain Breaks. My daughter just started kindergarten and talks endlessly about the “brain breaks” they have at frequent intervals during the day. They’ll all get up and dance to a silly song or do kiddie yoga. This allows their brains reset and refocus for the next lesson. GUESS WHAT – adults need this too! A tempting snack station offers a refreshing pause, helping attendees recharge and fostering better interaction in the second half of your event. With Argyle Events’ in-house catering, your next event will be remembered not just for what was discussed, but for what was savored. Let us help you create an experience that’s as memorable as it is delicious—more attendees, more buzz, just the way you like it! #EventPlanning #CulinaryExcellence #Networking #Productivity #Event

We love this innovative trend to host the wedding (ceremony, reception and all!) BEFORE the 'rehearsal dinner'. "I've seen so many couples and families who are unable to enjoy their rehearsal dinners because they have to be up at 9am for hair and makeup the next day or because they're panicking about speaking or standing before a huge body of people. Couples who have made this decision cherish the time it gave them to relax" We're all restructuring the "formal, traditional" wedding into something that feels more personal, and give couples more quality time to make memories with their loved ones. "We are going to be able to relish and savor this special night in our lives, and then have this full weekend to really be present with our people. We feel like we are giving ourselves the greatest gift." What do you think? Would you have your wedding cake and eat it too? #weddings #rehearsaldinners #weddingweekends #eventvenue

🌟 The Psychology of Event Planning: Keeping it Fresh Without Freaking People Out 🌟 Human psychology is wild—we're wired to love routine and predictability, yet we get bored and start craving something new just as easily. Our brain fears change because it's naturally inclined to favor predictability - it just feels safer. However, those same brains are total thrill seekers. We’re driven by curiosity and the need for novelty, which can trigger a dopamine release - giving us a feeling of pleasure and reward. This love-hate relationship with change means we’re always balancing comfort with the craving for ‘new and next’. In the world of event planning, this paradox is a real juggling act, especially when it comes to yearly marquee events like fundraisers, corporate offsites, or conferences. How do you keep things exciting without losing that familiar vibe everyone loves? Here are some tips to strike the right balance: Anchor with Tradition: Keep those classic elements that everyone expects—like the signature activities or themes that make your event, well, YOUR EVENT. For our annual “Kicks n Fits” Fundraiser for The Victory Project, we always keep the signature “Sporting cocktail attire and Adidas kicks” theme.  It’s this quirky combo that makes the event memorable and uniquely ours. Introduce Gradual Changes: Think of updates like seasoning—add a little each year rather than dumping the whole jar. This way, your attendees get a taste of something new without being overwhelmed. Each year at “Kicks n’ Fits,” we shake up the event design, entertainment, and overall vibe. Whether it’s a new twist on the decor or an exciting activation, we make sure there’s something fresh to look forward to, all while staying true to our goal of providing unique opportunities for KC kids to shine through philanthropic initiatives supporting childhood cancer and access to soccer. Focus on What Matters: Hone in on what your audience loves most about your event and amplify that, rather than changing things just for the heck of it. We know our guests love dressing up and still rocking their favorite kicks, so we keep that core experience front and center. And we keep our focus on what truly matters—supporting children through life’s challenges and uniting our community to make a difference. Involve Your Audience: Make your attendees part of the process—ask for feedback and let them help shape the event’s evolution. It’s like a group project - but fun. By mixing just the right amount of newness with those beloved traditions, you’ll keep your event fresh, exciting, and exactly what everyone’s hoping for. 🌀 #EventPlanning #CorporateEvents #ChangeManagement #AnnualEvents #EventMarketing #EventStrategy #Fundraiser #Gala

Internal Event Sales Manager @ Sporting Kansas City | Master's degree, Event Planning

Eight months into 2024 and I wanted to take some time to reflect and share on the whirlwind of events that I have had the privilege of planning and executing for all internal Sporting Kansas City events at Children's Mercy Park and beyond! Continuously grateful for the leadership and guidance from Amanda Maguire (Cieri) & the support from my other Argyle Events team members so far this year. As an experience obsessed club, it’s one of the main topics that I stress to all of the vendors that I work with on projects both big and small. They deliver every time. It’s an honor to work with some creative, talented, and hard working Kansas City vendors. The best is still yet to come!!

🌟 Why Booking Your Holiday Party on a Thursday is a Game-Changer (and Why You've Overlooked It Until Now) 🌟 For those of us in the event industry, the back-to-school season evokes more than just the nostalgic scent of pencils and the excitement of a new Lisa Frank folder 🦄. It also means one thing “time to start getting serious about that holiday party.” Amidst the hustle of end-of-year activities, the idea of hosting a holiday party might seem like an unnecessary expense or distraction. But a corporate holiday party isn’t just a fun gathering—it’s a statement of your company’s values. Parties provide a neutral ground for teams to interact and foster better inter-departmental understanding. Informal chats at parties often spark innovative ideas and breakthroughs. Parties offer networking opportunities that can lead to collaborations and partnerships and can break down barriers between staff and leadership. AND? An annual party creates cherished traditions that foster a sense of belonging. But let’s think beyond the party itself—consider the day you choose to be one of your strongest tools to telegraph your company culture to your employees. Hosting your holiday bash on a Thursday sends a powerful message: you value work-life balance. A Thursday party means your team can enjoy the celebration without sacrificing their weekend, allowing them to recharge and spend quality time with loved ones. So why has this idea been overlooked? Traditionally, weekends are seen as the prime time for parties. The thought is teams can relax and party later in the evening, with all of Sunday to recover. But most of your employees will already have invites or plans on these days with their friends and families. Planning the party on a Saturday forces them to extend their work obligations into the precious few Saturdays of the holiday season. This often leads to burnout as employees lose their personal time. Shifting to a Thursday prioritizes their well-being, and telegraphs that you advocate for work/life balance, which ultimately benefits the company. Let's champion employee wellness and make thoughtful choices for our holiday celebrations. A happy, well-rested team is the secret sauce to a thriving workplace. 💙✨ #EmployeeWellness #WorkLifeBalance #HolidayPlanning #CorporateEvents #Holiday

🌟 Avengers Assemble: How Coming Together Fuels Our Evolution🌟 "There was an idea... to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if they could become something more." - Nick Fury, The Avengers We all know humans are social beings, right? I mean hi, you’re currently reading this on a social media platform. But here’s the reality: our need to gather isn’t just because we love cake and small talk! It’s actually a fundamental human need, as crucial to our health and happiness as food, water, and shelter. So, if you think about it, in person events are like the secret ingredient to a thriving life! Which means the cheesy Marvel quote here isn't just superhero wisdom—It's actually a nod to our evolutionary blueprint. By coming together, our ancestors could protect one another, hunt larger prey, raise children in supportive groups and overall increase the odds of survival. This was so impactful, that we began to evolve with biological needs for human connection and to gather in groups. And did you know that humans have incredibly large brains relative to our body size? According to anthropologist Robin Dunbar, humans developed such large brains to deal with the growth and complexity of social interactions and social networks.  A species’ group size was the strongest predictor of an animal’s neocortex size. Basically, more friends, bigger brain! This means we evolved big brains not just for intelligence, but for connection. So when we gather, we’re keying into an ancient survival skill and amplifying our collective genius. When remarkable people unite, the magic isn't just in the networking—it's in the shared experiences, and the synergy that emerges. It's about crafting moments that matter, where we don't just exchange business cards, but ideas and energy that propel us forward. In-person events have a unique alchemy. They’re where sparks fly and ideas ignite, where people don’t just show up—they show out, bringing their best selves and their boldest visions. It's here that we find the courage to dream bigger and the support to turn those dreams into reality. When we gather, we're not just meeting; we're tapping into a core part of our humanity. It's in these moments that we solve problems and build stronger bonds. Let's make our gatherings purposeful and transformative, because when remarkable people come together, we don't just connect—we evolve. #SocialConnection #Evolution #EventMagic #Networking #CommunityBuilding #Events #Eventpros
