In December 2022, ACN's Board of Managers established an annual award to recognize top performing practices in honor of Dr. Hackenyos, our immediate past Board Chair, former Network Committee Chair, and co-founder of Ocotillo Internal Medicine - Chandler. Dr. Hackenyos passed away in December of 2021 after building an exceptional medical practice that continues to thrive after nearly 20 years. Last month, our team presented the inaugural Jon Hackenyos Practice Excellence Award to ASSOCIATED INTERNISTS OF AHWATUKEE, P.C. for their outstanding network performance in 2023. We look forward to continuing this tradition to honor his legacy for years to come.

Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital treated its first patient using the Evolut™ FX+ transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) system, a minimally invasive alternative to open-heart surgical aortic valve replacement. The hospital is the first in Arizona to offer this new TAVR system, which further refines the Evolut TAVR platform, designed to facilitate coronary access, for the treatment of symptomatic severe aortic stenosis.
