  • I have eaten gumbo in many places all over the South, and I can say without hesitation that some of the best #gumbo I have had anywhere is from right here in my favorite part of the Louisiana Purchase, our home we call Arkansas, especially when it is made with delicious Arkansas rice! Believed to have originated in Louisiana in the 18th century, gumbo’s diverse ingredients reflect Louisiana’s diverse cultures, blending traditions from Africa, France, Spain, the Caribbean and Native Americans. Happy #NationalGumboDay! Let’s eat!

Congratulations to Children's Advocacy Centers of Arkansas for raising $1 million last night at its Inspiration Gala at the Statehouse Convention Center. Elizabeth and I are so humbled to be this year’s honorees and share the night with Blue Ribbon Award recipient Jennifer Long, who leads the Children’s Protection Center. Thank you to all the volunteers who made the event so successful, and thank you to everyone who stands with this organization to provide support and healing to children across Arkansas. #arnews

Congratulations to my Office of Solicitor General for winning a 2024 United States Supreme Court Best Brief Award from the National Association of Attorneys General. This award confirms what I already knew: Arkansas’s Solicitor General team—attorneys and support staff—is among the very best anywhere and have earned respect and accolades nationally for their excellence. I am proud to work with them every day and appreciate their dedication to mission, keen insight and mastery of the law. tinyurl.com/jfxdzydx #arnews

  • I am proud to announce that I have promoted attorneys Justin Brascher and Laura Purvis in my office. Justin, a graduate of the University of Washington School of Law, will be my new Senior Assistant Attorney General for Intergovernmental Affairs, having previously served in the Civil Litigation Division, Special Litigation Section. Laura, a graduate of University of Arkansas School of Law, Fayetteville, will take over Justin’s previous role as Assistant Attorney General in our Special Litigation Section. It is rewarding to see people on my team excel, grow and thrive, and I am excited to have Justin and Laura serve the people of Arkansas in these new roles. https://lnkd.in/g2pZD9bh #arnews

  • Arkansas will receive $804,965 as part of a settlement between Marriott International and a coalition of 50 attorneys general for a large multi-year data breach. With #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth in full swing, this settlement is yet another reminder how widespread data breaches are, and how many lives they touch—including the lives of those who travel for business, visit family, or vacation. I remain committed to holding companies accountable for data breaches while encouraging Arkansans to be vigilant and protect their personal information and passwords. https://lnkd.in/gvdbHsZk #arnews

  • Another great day at our Cybersecurity Summit at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock! We started the day listening to my good friend Congressman Rick Crawford discuss what he is doing to fight cyber attacks as part of the House Intelligence Committee. We also heard from Thomas MacLellan of Palo Alto Networks about the current cyber threat environment. Members of my staff and others held a panel discussion on how Arkansans can protect themselves at home and work. And the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency discussed what it is doing for #ElectionIntegrity in the Natural State. Thank you to all who attended this summit, and thanks to the Forge Institute for collaborating with us. #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth #arnews

  • This morning I kicked off my #Cybersecurity Summit with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Director Jen Easterly, Congressman French Hill, Senator Tom Cotton, Congressman Rick Crawford and Forge Institute. You don’t have to look far to understand why cybersecurity matters. Look on the front page of today’s newspaper about China hacking three American telecom companies. Today, so much of our life is connected to each other: government, individuals, businesses, for example. I don’t think anyone can question the need for cybersecurity now. There are a lot of people out there who want to do you harm. Some are individuals that aren’t that smart and will get caught quickly. Some of them are highly sophisticated entities—such as criminal cartels—that want to do you harm. Some of them are aggressive nation-state actors, including China, Russia and Iran. If you have a home computer and a printer, and it’s connected to the Internet, you need to be cyber-secure. If you’re a big company or a small company, you need to be cyber-secure. When it comes to cybersecurity, we are only as strong as our weakest link. Success on this front requires a collective defense built on cooperation and collaboration. https://lnkd.in/gmd-H23P #arnews
