Our pediatric gastroenterology team, including Sulaiman Bharwani, M.D. and Maggie Young, R.N., assisted by Jacki Spence, M.S.N., R.N., CCRN, Justin Starr, M.S.N., R.N., C.P.N. and Joseph Jasso, biomedical technician at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Jonesboro Clinic recently completed their first transnasal endoscopy (TNE). 🎉 Unsedated TNE is a safe, efficient and less expensive alternative to traditional endoscopy that does not require general anesthesia. Instead, a numbing agent is used to help numb the nose and the back of the throat during the procedure. This innovative procedure takes about 20 minutes and lets kids return to their favorite activities right away. We are thrilled to mark this milestone in care for Northeast Arkansas. As the only provider in the state, we’re proud to offer this sedation-free option for pediatric patients in Jonesboro and Little Rock! 🌟 #TNE #Gastro #Pediatrics #Healthcare #Innovation #Arkansas

🌟 Exciting milestone for Arkansas Children's! 🌟 Pediatric otolaryngologist Dr. Gresham Richter performed the very first Hummingbird procedure in the state last week! 👂 The Hummingbird Device is a groundbreaking one-pass system that allows doctors to easily deploy ear tubes through the eardrum – without the need for anesthesia. This quick procedure takes just 2-5 minutes, and patients experience minimal discomfort afterward. The Hummingbird procedure is a game changer for pediatric ear tube placement, enabling ENT surgeons to provide safe, effective care in the office. We're proud of Dr. Richter and our ENT team for this huge step forward in Arkansas for pediatric healthcare! #Hummingbird #ENT #Pediatrics #Healthcare #Arkansas #EarTubes #Innovation
