In 2023, travel provided $4.5 billion in economic impact to Arlington and supported the livelihoods of more than 27,000 hard-working people in the County and beyond. Arlington visitors generated $242 million in local tax revenues that strengthen important services and programs for our community. Our guests also sustain local businesses large and small – from hotels, restaurants and stores to artisans, event organizers, transportation providers and more. Kudos and thanks to all the amazing Arlington hospitality partners who together are building a brighter future for our County! This week, Arlington Convention and Visitors Service (All in Arlington)'s own Destiny Esper, MSOL teamed up with our Northern Virginia Tourism Partnership colleagues to bring the stories of Northern Virginia — Virginia’s Cultural Region — to Toronto for Discover America Canada. From connecting with Canadian media to diving into all that makes Arlington and Northern Virginia unique, we shared our region’s commitment to sustainability, rich historical landmarks, beautiful green spaces, vibrant culinary scene, renowned arts, and much more. We’re truly grateful for the strong relationships we’ve built with Canadian media and the warm welcome from Canadian visitors who find something new and special each time they come to Northern Virginia. It’s our mission to provide authentic, memorable experiences that showcase the spirit and diversity of our region and keep our northern neighbors coming back. A heartfelt thank you to everyone in Toronto who welcomed us. We can’t wait to continue sharing Virginia’s Cultural Region with Torontonians and Canadians everywhere! Let's do this again in Arlington County Government at Convene! Great working with Capitol Communicator, Paul Duning, Paul Sherman and Robert Udowitz thanks to Greg Kihlstrom. Working with Arlington Economic Development colleagues Sindy Yeh, CEcD, Michael Stiefvater to tap great speakers and invite Ryan Touhill to kick off the day was a highlight. And what about super communicator Matthew Turner from National Park Service? Fabulous! Hope those attending treated themselves to a portrait by Cade Martin. Always behind the camera so he's officially #banksyofphotography. Great to see AAF DC - American Advertising Federation DC Chapter, Gretchen Carswell, Louise Mendoza-Salas, Whitney Loring, MPS and everyone who came to celebrate communications pioneer Cary Hatch. And thanks to Mary-Claire Burick and Rosslyn Business Improvement District for jumping in. Always grateful for BizLaunch, Arlington's Small Business Assistance Network team supporting creative efforts.

There is still time to enjoy your favorite Arlington Restaurant during #ARLRestaurantWeek. Thank you Arlington Chamber Of Commerce for this wonderful event, featuring over 60 participating restaurants this year. Yesterday, The Residence Inn Rosslyn staff took a much needed lunch break to enjoy a delicious 3 course meal at @Le Cote D’Or French Restaurant. The service, food and ambiance were just perfect! Which restaurants have you tried this week?
