Christmas is a time for giving and we are proud to be able to keep up our annual donation to the Irish Kidney Association. The organisation is a charitable voluntary organisation that does vital work supporting patients affected by end-stage kidney disease, as well as their families. It is a disease that can affect anyone, and the impact can be significant. The profile of the kidney patients ranges from infanthood to the elderly who are undergoing various methods of treatment – haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis (both CAPD and APD) and kidney transplantation. Kidney disease affects all age groups, both men and women. The reality of kidney disease is that it may impinge on many strands of a person’s life. Supporting organisations like the Irish Kidney Association is more important than ever, and every donation big or small goes a long way in helping those affected.
