About us

The Arts & Business Council invests in the people and organizations that create the art we love. We do this through an integrated and responsive platform of programs and services designed to support and nurture the creative ecosystem. Our holistic platform of programs strengthen and build the capacity of nonprofits, nonprofit boards, and creative businesses—from training skilled executives for nonprofit board service to supporting organizations with access to HR education and benefits for their employees. We work to empower artists, arts organizations, and creative entrepreneurs with the business tools and resources they need to meet their own definitions of success. We provide professional development education and support through workshops and webinars, unique fellowship opportunities, mentorships, and direct services. We partner with foundations, philanthropists, and local government to respond to the needs of artists and organizations and to deliver real value to our community. We also partner with local business through our corporate art lending program. And at our annual Martinis & Masterpieces event, we bring the best of both worlds together to support the health of our creative economy and to celebrate the area’s many arts champions.

🎉 Cheers! To the 2024 Walter Feldman Fellows! The Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston is excited to announce this year's Walter Feldman Fellows Jo Nanajian and Rowan Raskin! Jo Nanajian, originally from Beirut, Lebanon, has lived in the US for 15 years and counting. She finds inspiration in the interplay between materials, narratives, and identity. Armed with a BFA in General Fine Arts with a concentration in Book Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), her creative journey has been marked by a relentless exploration of form and meaning. Rowan Raskin is a queer, non-binary artist from Arizona and a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design (2021). Currently located in Boston, MA, Rowan is inspired by their childhood spent exploring the deserts of Arizona and mythologizes the Southwestern queer experience. Rowan received the Worcester Center for Art’s Glass Residency upon their graduation and more recently has shown work with the Art League of Rhode Island, the Fort Points Art Space Gallery in Boston, and The Peg Center for Art and Activism, among others. Now in its 10th year, the Walter Feldman Fellowship for Emerging Artists supports the professional careers of visual artists through gained knowledge of exhibition practices or alternative presentation of work and curatorial and professional development support, including expert guidance on improving business skills for the effective presentation and promotion of work. I’ve been a board member of the Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston for the past five years. I’m so proud of the work we do supporting artists and creating opportunities to thoughtfully incorporate more art into our work spaces and communities.
