Recently, our Conley, Georgia, campus hosted “Bring Your Kid to Work Day”. Many employees brought their children ages 6-16 to work with them. This gave colleagues the opportunity to show of their workplace and allow the children to see what their parents. The young visitors got to see some lab experimentation, toured the facility, and explored the transportation department’s trucks.

Additionally, the very destructive Formosan termite lives in large colonies that can destroy a structure in as little as three months. Did you know? Portions of a wood-framed structure that are subject to damage by decay, the code mandates that the lumber be pressure-preservative treated or be naturally durable wood or be of a species of wood having a natural resistance to decay. IRC section 317.1 lists 7 different areas where treated wood or equivalent naturally durable wood must be used. One of those areas is wood structural members supporting moisture-permeable floors or roofs that are exposed to the weather, such as concrete or masonry slabs, unless separated from such floors or roofs by an impervious moisture barrier. #BuildingCodes #TreatedWood #WolmanizedOutdoorWood #Preservative
