The Committee on Sustainability (COS) of ASCE is seeking standard committee members for the upcoming revision of ASCE 73:   “Standard Practice for Sustainable Infrastructure.” The chair for this committee is Anthony Kane, ENV SP, Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI), Washington, DC. The Committee on Sustainability (COS) of ASCE is seeking members with demonstrated interest and experience to participate on the Sustainable Infrastructure Standard Committee. The current version of this standard defines performance objectives specific to sustainability applicable across all infrastructure sectors; the accompanying commentary provides guidance on how the objectives can be achieved.  Membership on COS/ASCE standard committees are open to all those who are directly contributing to, and/or affected by sustainable infrastructure without dominance by any single interest group: Producer, Consumer and General Interest, including Regulatory bodies. ASCE fosters an inclusive environment for all committee members, valuing their unique strengths, perspectives, and experiences. We encourage all eligible candidates, including those who have been historically marginalized, protected veterans, women, and individuals with disabilities, to apply. Those interested in serving the committee should apply online at Committee Application Form | ASCE. Select “Committee on Sustainability (COS)” from the “Institute or Committee” dropdown menu, then choose “Standard Practice for Sustainable Infrastructure (ASCE/COS 73)”. The deadline to apply for this committee is September 30, 2024. For more information, please contact Tanner Johnston, Standards Manager, at tjohnston@asce.org, or Dustin Young, Sustainability & Technical Advancement Director, at dyoung@asce.org.
