Last month, two of our ASCE Student Chapter - UT Tyler Houston Engineering Center students, Alexander Carranza and Jose Herrera, participated in the 2024 Texas ASCE #CECON student poster session on their own accord. They presented on innovative design improvements that transportation engineers and urban planners can implement to enhance the safety and resilience of Texas roads, aligning with the conference's "Raising the Grade" theme. Our chapter extends a heartfelt thank you to Ron Reichert and AmeriTex Pipe & Products for their continued support in sponsoring our students' attendance and accommodations. We are incredibly proud of our students' dedication to the vision and theme that ASCE promotes annually at CECon and look forward to continuing this tradition next year!

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Scott L. Cunningham, PE, CFM, ENV SP from HR Green, Inc. for taking the time to engage with our student chapter. Despite the challenges posed by electrical grid issues requiring the use of a generator, Scott welcomed our senior and new junior students to their first ASCE meeting with enthusiasm. Having all our members connect through a Teams Session, we were still able to view his insightful presentation that covered the vital elements of life after graduation and the breadth of opportunities within the field of civil engineering. His presentation was not only informative but also captivating, leaving a lasting impression on all participants. We appreciate the effort Scott put into connecting with us and sharing the valuable contributions of HR Green to the civil engineering community. Thank you once again, Scott, for your time and dedication. Your engagement has undoubtedly inspired our students as they embark on their professional journeys.
