After extensive discussions with the City of Tampa, local weather officials and convention meeting facilities regarding the impact of Hurricane Milton, we have decided to cancel the ASCE 2024 Convention. This weekend the ASCE Committee on Younger Members (CYM) hosted the Younger Member Leadership Symposium Alumni Summit (YMLS AS) at Bechtel Corporation in Houston, Texas! Throughout the conference, attendees further developed their soft skills with sessions on Communication Breakdown, Building & Managing a Diverse Team, and Providing Feedback & Setting Boundaries. Younger Members also heard a presentation on professional licensure sponsored by NCEES. Thank you to all those who attended and our facilitator, Elizabeth Ruedas, PE, for an amazing weekend! Also over the weekend CYM was able to host their Fall Meeting in person to kick off the planning for next fiscal year. Our committee is excited to be at the forefront of Younger Member development and what’s in store for next year.
