A great article in the Austin American-Statesman featuring The Food is the Best Medicine program at ASMCA! Thanks to grants and donations to the Ascension Seton Foundation, we're able to provide nutritious food to mothers and their newborns. We're incredibly grateful for our partnership with The Cook's Nook, Farmshare Austin and Michael & Susan Dell Center for Healthy Living at UTHealth for helping to make this program a success.

Earlier this month, former and current patients and their families joined donors, members of the Dell Children’s Foundation, members of the Ascension Seton Williamson Foundation Board of Trustees, and the Dell Children’s North Advisory Council to celebrate the first anniversary of Dell Children’s Medical Center North. In just one year, the hospital has performed more than 1,100 surgeries and served more than 15,500 patients in need of emergency care. And this is just the beginning!

A new "Tree of Life" installation at Ascension Seton Medical Center honors all those who have given the gift of life to others through organ donation. The official unveiling ceremony will take place in two weeks. Joel Rice, our Ascension Seton Foundation Executive Director and Shay Rogillio (LCSW), social worker at the Ascension Heart Specialty Care & Transplant Center, were able to get a sneak preview during the installation yesterday. This meaningful tribute to organ donors was funded by the Ascension Seton Foundation thanks to the generosity of our community of donors.

March is National Social Work Month! Ascension Texas has over 270 social workers in multiple roles all over the network providing care, compassion, interventions and resources to patients, families and caregivers. Two social workers, Shay Rogillio (L) and Leslie Goldstein (R), both care for patients at the Ascension Seton Heart Specialty Care & Transplant Center at ASMCA. Shay has worked at Ascension Seton for 12 years and Leslie 24 years. They utilize funds from the Ascension Seton Foundation on a daily basis to help our patients in need. Thanks for all you do! The theme for March 2024 Social Work Month is “Empowering Social Workers: Inspiring Action, Leading Change!”
