Despite Samsung's assurances, the union claims significant disruptions are inevitable. 🏭🚨 Nvidia could face restrictions banning its H20 AI GPUs from being sold to China due to increasing geopolitical tensions and national security concerns. This is part of the U.S. government's plan to restrict China's access to advanced AI. If these sanctions are enforced, NVIDIA might face a revenue loss of up to $12B. 🛑💰 AI is driving up capacitor demand, extending lead times for polymer capacitors. Telecom, automotive, industrial, medical, and consumer sectors worry about supply being consumed by server, DPU, and GPU builds. Panasonic capacitors face shortages, with lead times up to 24 weeks. Murata's lead times remain extended due to this year earlier earthquake. 📊 ⚙️ Manufacturers will increase memory prices by about 10% this quarter. LPDDR and DDR5 costs are rising more sharply than DDR4, with server and PC DRAM prices expected to rise by 10%. DRAM capacity issues are projected to worsen through late 2024 and early 2025. Manufacturers like Samsung are anticipated to continue raising prices, with server components experiencing the most significant hikes. 💻📈 HDD demand is outpacing production, leading to extended booking lead times and a 10-20% price increase for high-capacity storage due to raw material shortages. Seagate reports supply constraints and requests 52-week committed orders.
