I had many jobs as an IT professional in the last decade, over Ten of them to be exact. It then syncs the AD domain controllers, so that changes are synchronized between the Domain controller servers 3. After that it delta syncs Azure AD connect server directory to Entra ID 4. It connects or logs in to to Azure AD and adds user to all needed groups for licensing, security groups etc 5. Connects to Exchange Online and adds user to distribution groups 6.
