🏆 SHOW STOPPER 🏆 Last Wednesday, our DC office participated in the 2024 IIDA Cosmo Couture event, winning the Showstopper Award - ‘exceptionally inspiring or moving, wild card, evokes a whole mood’. Playing off this year’s theme, ‘Out of this World’, ASD|SKY partnered with Diode led and District Lighting Group to create a design composed of wire, tapelight, and LED panels. INFINITE LUMINOSITY✨ // Out of the darkness emerges a continuous light weaving through the universe. Through the use of weaving techniques, channels for structure and light components, our design represents the importance of light in the darkness. With minimal use of color, the light is able to tell its own story and leave an infinite impression.

Sometimes the tiniest things carry the greatest hope. We’re incredibly honored to share the patches we designed as part of a truly meaningful collaboration with Indiewalls and the Oliver Patch Project 🌟 The patch is part of a curated collection of patches that will be available - for free - to children undergoing cancer treatment or facing other health challenges. Each design serves as a small but powerful reminder that they are not alone on their journey. The inspiration for this patch came from knowing that the power of a child’s mind goes beyond anything we can imagine; what they believe can shape everything around them. These patches were made with that in mind, – to strengthen and remind them about their thoughts towards themselves – and that in their journey, they are not alone. We’ve also had the pleasure of working with IndieWalls recently; their expertise, curated eye, and industry knowledge have added a bespoke touch throughout the project. We look forward to future collaborations with their team, and it's been great to expand that relationship and collaborate on this philanthropic project! Thank you to everyone who has been involved in making this special project happen!

This week we are proudly sharing a few of the innovative development projects that have achieved certification from our Charleston RISES program. Morrison Yard Offices was one of our first projects to be fully certified. The iconic 12- story, 138,376 sf building at the base of the Ravenel Bridge in downtown Charleston is packed with sustainable design features. Some our favorites include: -- Sensitive land protection and innovative stormwater design, including a wetlands plaza -- Exceptional mobility amenities, including enclosed bike storage and repair room as well as shower and locker room facilities -- Energy efficiency features, including advanced daylighting, 100% LED lighting fixtures, building automation, and high-efficiency equipment, plus building commissioning -- Low-emitting paints and finishes, flooring, and furniture, formaldehyde – free composite wood, and a green cleaning program. Great projects are the result of great teams, and we'd like to recognize Origin Development Partners, LLC, The Keith Corporation, and Mixson Properties, and ASD | SKY for their vision and commitment to achieving a high-performing project and for integrating ambitious sustainability goals from the onset. We also want to recognize our program partner, Green Badger, for their work on this project. RISES certification recognizes new, high-performing construction projects that are at least 30% more energy and water efficient than code, that use materials, products and practices that do not adversely affect the environment, and that promote the health and well-being of building occupants. More than 1,329,000 sf of buildings in our region are currently being certified. For more information on this project as well as additional photos, visit Morrison-Yard – Elevate Your Business (morrisonyardoffice.com)
