The use Performance-Based Acquisition Techniques that Enable Proactive Risk Management now a requirement for US Federal Agencies. Executive Office of President issued memorandum that federal agencies acquiring AI should leverage performance-based approaches and techniques, including through the use of best practices to strengthen their ability to effectively plan for, identify, and manage risk. Performance-based requirements allow agencies to understand and evaluate vendor claims about their proposed use of AI systems or services prior to contract award, acquire AI capabilities that address their needs, and perform post-award monitoring. Focusing acquisition on achieving desired performance outcomes directly facilitates an agency’s ability to ensure agency needs are met by defining metrics to maintain and improve performance of the AI system or service. The performance-based requirements identified by an agency, including safeguards against inaccurate outputs, confabulations, drift, and other risks specific to ensure, to the greatest extent practicable, that the AI system or service to be acquired will be appropriate for the expected use context. At Asher Informatics PBC we help institutions facilitate independent and local performance-based assessments and provide post-deployment AI performance monitoring, data drift and utilization reporting for imaging and signal Clinical AI in Healthcare. Let's connect.

Great presentation by Dan Buckland, MD for those looking to design Health AI/ML models. "...if we have been poorly treating a demographic or population, that will show up in the clinical data. We might not have race, gender or zip code as an identifier in the original clinical data." shared Dr Buckland. Good insights to support the need of Asher Informatics PBC AI/ML independent equity performance audits, AI-Assess. Through a funded federal research contract, we've designed a tool in which we can provide independent real-world data subgroup population testing on clinical and signal AI/ML models and products. Right now, the MVP is designed to support #oncologyAI FDA 510K submissions and enable the FDA access to the testing of an algorithms performance and therefore better evaluate an AI/ML submission. We've partnered with Gradient Health to provide data that includes race, gender, age and we're utilizing Rhino Health's federated platform to be able to pull testing data from multiple sources. If you're an oncology AI developer, we're currently conducting feedback interviews and would love to connect.

Today, there are market-ready #clinicalAI solutions that are appropriate for rural and community healthcare systems. As we address social determinants of health and explore AI's potential to enhance health equity, it's crucial to not assume that #clinicalAI is beyond the reach of limited-resourced health systems. By raising awareness, we emphasize that it's not only vital for AI to work equitably for all populations; it's also essential that these communities benefit today from these advancements. Let's ensure that everyone has access to the transformative power of #clinicalAI. 🌍💡Today, there are market ready #clinicalAI solutions appropriate for rural and community healthcare systems. A heartfelt Thank You to Mary Lanning Healthcare in Nebraska for sending Jessica Sutton to the National Institute of Rural & Minority Health and The American Association of Nurse Attorneys Tri-State Symposium! Jessica shared invaluable insights on addressing #SDoH (Social Determinants of Health) by adopting cutting-edge clinical AI. We are also immensely grateful to: ◾ Dante Salvetti from Eyenuk, Inc. ◾ Adam Hochstetler from Aidoc Both are global leaders in clinical AI, demonstrating unwavering commitment to health equity and supporting rural and minority communities. Together, we are making strides towards a healthier future for all. 🔆
