You want to be average, fix your weaknesses. 👎   👨🦰When I was a child, I was poor in math. My parents did what most Asian parents would do. They got me a math tutor. Every night with my tutor I went through hell. After 3 months of working hard, night after night of feeling stupid, I was able to take my math skills from poor up to… slightly above poor.   Then I got into the business world. The end of the year performance appraisal surfaced that I was weak in my analytical planning. So, week after week, month after month I worked on it. I was able to get my skills up to average.    What am I becoming… average. 👎   Now, there is nothing wrong with average. If you want to be average, this is a good approach.   However, many of us want to be exceptional at something. If you want to be distinctive, you need to identify your strengths and leverage them by focusing on developing them even further.   💍Choose classes in them, enroll in training courses that will enhance them and get involved in projects that will help you further advance them. Because your brain is hard wired for your strengths, your efforts will efficiently and dramatically improve them.   Now I’m not saying to not fix your weaknesses. There are some things that you need to address, for they are getting in the way. What I am saying is you can work on a weakness but don’t dilute your time away from developing your strengths.   Also, set the right expectations that you won’t be able to turn a weakness into a towering strength.   💍Combine your strengths with the 10,000 hour rule. Malcolm Gladwell in his book, Outliers—based on study by Ander Ericsson explained that exceptional expertise requires at least 10,000 hours of practice. He gave The Beatles as an example. They performed live in Hamburg, Germany over 1,200 times from 1960 to 1964, amassing more than 10,000 hours of playing time, therefore meeting the 10,000-Hour Rule. And we know what the Beatles became.   💍Combining nature (identifying and leveraging your strengths) with nurture (10,000 hours of practice) you can develop towering strengths and become truly exceptional. Many people claim I’m a Master Coach. Well, I have accumulated over 18,000 hours of coaching executives.   So, stop focusing on your weaknesses and work on leveraging how your brain is hard wired by building on your strengths, bringing more and more of them into your daily career/life and over time delegating, deferring, delaying, deleting the things you are not good at doing.   Become distinctive! 💪 ----- Let me share with you the 𝑻𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒌𝒂 foundational principles that have moved these leaders to higher heights. Everyone can immediately put them to work. ***** 👉 Type "𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐓" in the COMMENTS below, and I'll send you the PDF, "𝑨𝑻𝑻𝑹𝑨𝑪𝑻, 𝑫𝑬𝑽𝑬𝑳𝑶𝑷 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝑬𝑻𝑨𝑰𝑵 𝑷𝑬𝑹𝑭𝑶𝑹𝑴𝑬𝑹𝑺: 𝑾𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑾𝒂𝒓 𝒊𝒏 𝑻𝒐𝒅𝒂𝒚'𝒔 𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒍" for FREE.
