Despite the high tax rate, in the first 9 months of 2024, golf rounds at golf courses have remained at high levels even higher than 2019. In a recent meeting, the Vietnam Tourism Association submitted a proposal to the government to reduce golf taxes to 5-10%. https://lnkd.in/gjzTUZhi ⛳ 𝗟𝗮𝗼𝘀 & 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗮 are recorded high tax rate, with Cambodia golf service tax at 10% Specific Tax and 10% VAT, accumulating to a total of 21%. ⛳ Other countries maintain tax rates ranging from 8% to 11%. The majority are expected to maintain these rates for the long term. 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮, however, is planning to increase the tax rate for golf services from 11% to 12% starting from January 1, 2025. ⛳ 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥: "High taxes on golf services are unhealthy for the industry in certain countries in Southeast Asia that impose high charges for the sport, making it expensive compared to popular golf travel destinations that do not have these kinds of charges." VIETNAM GOLF COURSE DEVELOPMENT ⛳ The Trump Organization, represented by its officials, met with Hưng Yên province leaders in early September to discuss potential investments aimed at developing a golf course and recreational complex in the area. The province is located approximately 60–70 kilometers from Hanoi, a 1 to 1.5-hour drive. Hưng Yên is focusing on economic growth, with tourism as a key sector. The province boasts historical sites, agricultural development—particularly longan and other fruits—and significant cultural monument projects. In 2023, the province attracted around 800,000 tourists. This collaboration with the Trump Organization aims to boost economic development and strengthen diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the United States. ⛳ Currently, there is only a driving range course in Hưng Yên province: Els Performance Golf Academy (EPGA).
