Susan Shapiro's co-authored book "American Shield: The Immigrant Sergeant Who Defended Democracy" was a finalist for the 2024 Best Book Awards. Her co-author, Sgt. Aquilino Gonell, spoke at the Democratic National Convention. The paperback version of the book comes out from Counterpoint in November. Michelle Rafter collaborated on an essay about new work models in "Reinventing Work: Creating Advantage with Talent Management and Technology," compiled by Boston Consulting Group's BCG Henderson Institute and published Oct. 21 by De Gruyter. www.asja.org

Submissions are Open for the Andy Awards! Now in their second year, the Andy Awards recognize outstanding nonfiction collaboration in three categories: Business and Thought Leadership Memoir and Narrative Nonfiction Prescriptive Nonfiction The only award honoring ghostwriters and collaborators, the Andy Awards come with positive publicity, including Publishers Marketplace and The New York Times. Key eligibility criteria: Both author and writer must jointly submit the book for consideration and agree that the honor shall be jointly awarded and shared The book's publication date must be between July 1, 2023-December 31, 2024 The deadline to submit is December 31, 2024.
