And that's a wrap on my very first SF TECH WEEK by a16z 2️⃣ 0️⃣ 2️⃣ 4️⃣ ! I have to say, this week can be hectic, stressful, and a bit crazy making... ...but the silver lining is the people that I had a chance to connect and reconnect with 💜 Monday night, I was invited to join f7 Ventures' Founders & Friends Dinner. There I was able to meet fellow f7 Catalyst winners, fellow founders, and the great partners of f7 Ventures who believe that 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. Then on Tuesday, we partnered with Industrious in their IKEA Hej!Workshop where I moderated a panel of Chiefs of Staff and discussed how the role scales with a company and their Principal. Last night, I had the pleasure of moderating an incredible Chief of Staff panel for SF TECH WEEK by a16z 🎤 ⭐️ 🎙️ The topic: How a Chief of Staff Scales with their CEO and Startup We had a packed house with over 5️⃣ 0️⃣ audience members, a lot of laughs, and, most importantly, a few memorable takeaways: 🍷 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 #1: Don’t spill the red wine! (Yes, our hosts Industrious insisted on this to keep their carpet that lovely pink 💗) 🎩 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀: therapist, firefighter, and sometimes, even a mind-reader. Chief of Staff Yoshita Agrawal summed it up well: “You’re not the expert in anything, but you better figure it all out!” 😂 𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: “I’m a specialist in nothing, which is why I’m still here!” - courtesy of Saumil Shah 3️⃣ 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀. Give us 3️⃣ buckets, 3️⃣ categories, or 3️⃣ deliverables, and we’re happy campers. 🤖 When asked if AI will make Chiefs of Staff obsolete, the answer was a collective, resounding "𝗡𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘆!" Looks like we’re here to stay (for now).
