We are excited to welcome Scott Sheffield, Senior Vice President of Operations for Associated Materials (AMI), to PEPA’s Board of Directors. In his role at AMI, Scott is responsible for business and financials for all operational sectors for the company, including P/L for window fabrication, vinyl siding, vinyl extrusions and the metals divisions. Scott joins our board with more than 20 years of experience in engineering, product manufacturing, sales and business development and supply chain management. Throughout his tenure in the building materials industry, Scott has held positions of increasing responsibility, including earlier in his career as President of MGM Industries, a vertically integrated manufacturer of new construction and replacement vinyl windows and doors. More recently, Scott served as Chief Operations Officer for Nashville Tempered Glass. Fun Fact: Scott began his career as a Tool and Die maker for the vinyl extrusion industry. While advancing to become an expert tool designer, builder and tuner, Scott graduated with honors from Youngstown State with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

As part of our transformation journey at Associated Materials, we are accelerating the adoption of Lean manufacturing to enhance operational efficiencies and product excellence. Our team in Burlington, Ontario, recently completed a successful Kaizen event, or a problem-solving event, that ultimately reduced scrap on the manufacturing line by 20% in just one week’s time. It was all-hands-on-deck from managers, supervisors, operations, and the line leader who developed a process that’s now a standard way of working. Hear from Harry Kalsi, Senior Continuous Improvement Manager, who was part of the event. #ContinuousImprovement #AMBurlington #BuildingProductsBetter
