I'm looking forward to speaking at ACT Forum in a couple of weeks, reconnecting with some old pals now that I'm back across the pond. Our session on Reactive vs Visionary Planning as part of "The TDM City" track speaks to some of my favorite topics in the industry - and includes both European and US mode shift lessons. Come by our session - and let's grab a coffee and explore Charlotte! #TDMForum

And just like that, we've wrapped the final #ImpACTLeadership round table of 2024! Today's speaker was Matt Meservy, PE, TDM-CP, who spearheaded a fantastic discussion about State DOT Topics and Issues. The cohort learned about Tennessee and TDOT, current TDM initiatives in the state, and key funding sources. What a strong note to end on! Thank you to each and every round table presenter for an unforgettable series of TDM education opportunities. We'll bring this year's Impactees together once more for their graduation at the #TDMForum.

Leading the premier association of TDM professionals that will create a better journey for everyone.
At the Association for Commuter Transportation's upcoming #𝗧𝗗𝗠𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺, we're diving deep into the idea of rethinking how we plan our cities, with a full-day track focused on 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗧𝗗𝗠 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆—one built around our vision for a better journey for everyone, not just the predictions of existing models. This got me reflecting on some "What if" scenarios that challenge the status quo: 🌍 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 communities prioritized people over vehicles? 🚎 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 public transit riders were viewed as heroes? 🚴♀️ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 cyclists were truly treated as equals on our roads? 💸 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 the allocation of transportation dollars matched our visions for the places we want to live? I invite you to add your own "What if" statements. Let’s dream bigger, push boundaries, and inspire change together! 👇 Drop your "What if" thoughts below and join us in Charlotte! #TDM #Sustainability #FutureOfCities

As a parent who walks their kids home from school every day, drivers speeding through school zones is one of my biggest worries every day. Thanks to the Association for Commuter Transportation and NACTO (National Association of City Transportation Officials) for partnering with the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) to raise awareness and highlight safety success stories. Shelly Baldwin, Director of the Washington Traffic Safety Commission and GHSA Equity and Engagement Committee Co-Chair, shared how Washington state is working to slow drivers down and make it safer for students to get to and from school. Spoiler alert: Speed cameras work!

Next month, I'll "graduate" from the Association for Commuter Transportation's #ImpACT! program at the 2024 #TDMForum. I had a blast in this program which resulted in, among other things, the creation of a resource (https://lnkd.in/gnK3FJ5A) that I hope many who are new to #TDM (Transportation Demand Management) will find useful; those who have been around a while will hopefully find it a good refresher! Thank you to my awesome group members for all the work, energy, and fun put into this project. I think it was the most balanced group work I've ever experienced (everyone showed up, did their part and more, and kept each other accountable while providing oodles of respect and support): Sabrina Green, PMP, TDM-CP, Christine Krolewicz, AICP, Michael Wandler, and Jennifer Sazehn. Thank you also to Elizabeth Arlette Denton and Allison Caravella for all the ACT support along the way. Thank you to the ACT Midwest (#midBest) Chapter for awarding me a scholarship to help enable my participation and promote Midwest member development. And last but not least, thank you to Tiffany Orth for supporting my participation in this wonderful professional development opportunity. #sustainabletransportation
