We are excited to announce that AEA is a proposed awardee for the administration of the Northern California Regional Administrator role for California Energy Commissions'(CEC) groundbreaking Equitable Building Decarbonization Direct Install Program (EBD)! This pioneering CEC program is the first in the nation to provide comprehensive building decarbonization retrofits through a direct installation model at no cost to participants. The EBD Program aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from existing buildings, advance energy equity, enhance resilience to extreme heat, improve indoor air quality, boost energy affordability, support the electric grid, and increase prevailing wages for the workforce. Additionally, the program supports the state’s goals of installing 6 million heat pumps by 2030, creating 3 million climate-ready and climate-friendly homes by 2030, and 7 million by 2035. The program will rely heavily on a broad network of on-the-ground community-based organizations to engage local communities and enroll participants. AEA has assembled the perfect team of partners to implement this transformative program which includes The Ortiz Group, VEIC, Frontier Energy, Inc. Rising Sun Center for Opportunity, Asian Pacific Environmental Network, Poder SF, GRID Alternatives, and California Housing Partnership.

We are so glad you were able to join us. Thank you to Laars Heating Systems for hosting us and Rathe Associates for organizing the event.
A big thank you to the Association for Energy Affordability, Inc. for inviting us on a tour of the New Hampshire Laars Heating Systems boiler and heat pump factory! We had a fantastic time at the LAARS facility in Rochester, NH, where we heard from their expert team about their new Air-to-Water Heat Pump (AWHP) product and learned how the system is manufactured—the AWHP, storage tanks, and heat exchangers are all produced in the United States and align with Build America Buy America requirements! The LAARS team also showed us the controls they’ve adapted from their boiler products and walked us through applications for #multifamily new construction and #electrification #retrofits, as well as new products set to launch in 2025. While we were there, we got to join our colleagues for a tour of Fenway Park and a Red Sox vs. Astros game, but the most exciting moment of the trip was getting to see the exact E-Therm heat pump/hot water heater that will be installed in a Climate Friendly Homes Fund-funded project in the Bronx! In a few short weeks it will be installed, and soon it will #electrify hot water production for the home. Thank you again to the AEA team, Rathe Associates and LAARS Heating Systems for a motivating and memorable time! #AffordableHousing #EquitableHousing #EnergyEfficientHousing #SustainableSystems #HeatPumps #ElectrifyYourBuilding #ElectricHeatPumps #CleanEnergy #CleanAir #Decarbonization #DecarbonizeTheBuiltEnvironment #ETherm #Boiler #MultifamilyConstruction #ElectrificationRetrofits #AWHP #GGRF #CFHF #NCIF #WeAreClimateUnited
