Congratulations to our latest Star of Astera award winner, Medley Shamp! She was nominated for displaying our core values, including ownership, empathy, innovation, and humility! Her nomination: “Earlier this month, I was placed in a stressful situation and was visibly anxious and nervous (in the heat of the moment). Medley was assisting in this situation as an Admin member who was supposed to support and help when needed. I felt a lot of pressure to succeed and felt like I was failing. I cannot put into words how supportive, helpful, positive, encouraging, and calming she was. She went above and beyond when she talked me out of the sense of failure that I was experiencing. She went above and beyond when she helped me grab ahold of the situation and helped me execute and deliver. She also went above and beyond when she followed up later that day to express her thoughts on making things smoother in the future and to make sure I wasn't being too hard on myself. I don't work in a department that she oversees, but it didn't matter... Medley embodied OWNERSHIP, EMPATHY, INNOVATION, and HUMILITY. Anybody can see how she is always showing our Astera Health values in everything she does. She is professional, kind, caring, and innovative, and I can tell that she takes pride in being a part of our Astera Health family.
