#space #aerospace #astronautics #astronautics4xploit The Interplanetary Internet, a proposed space computer network consisting of a set of network nodes, such as Earth ground stations, orbiters and landers of the planets, that can communicate with one another, has been evaluated to be a potential trillion-dollar business. Based on the increase in interest in digging deeper into the cosmos to unravel the mysteries of the universe, several government space agencies, private space companies, and academia are investing in the research and development of the Interplanetary Internet. The design strategy is to power the Interplanetary Internet using relay stations and satellites that are interlinked together for accelerating messages from one planet to another planet and through the Interplanetary space. Presently, Both SpaceX and Blue Origin are contending to develop interplanetary Internet that will link Earth to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Efforts are in top gear to map out plans for the development of future Interplanetary Internet that will help to interlink orbiters, robotic explorers, and human crew to the planets. Also, strategy is being developed to evolve the present set of internationally standardized space data communications protocols into an operational “Interplanetary Internet”. Presently, five orbiters are orbiting Mars. The Mars Odyssey, MAVEN, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, and the Mars Express and Trace Gas Orbiter, being used as relay stations in the interplanetary system, are transmitting images and data from the Perseverance and Curiosity rovers to the Deep Space Network antennas. In this video, Astronautics4Xploit presents "Interplanetary Internet: A Next-generation Space Network Architecture for the Moon, Mars, and Beyond". The focus points are the Interplanetary Internet, Challenges of the Interplanetary Internet, and Future Interplanetary Internet Architecture. #space #aerospace #astronautics #astronautics4xploit The internet, a global system of interconnected computer networks and electronic devices that communicate with each other and share information via an established and standardized Internet Protocol suite, is dated back to the 1960s. The first conception of the idea of “Internet” is credited to J.C.R. Licklider of MIT who, in August 1962, described a “galactic network”, where anyone could access data and programs from any location in the universe. Several pioneering scientists, programmers, and engineers contributed immensely to the development of the Internet Protocol Suite, rules for communication between networks and devices on the Internet, and the evolution of the Internet. The launch of the first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1, spurred the formation of the ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), the network that metamorphosed into the term “Internet”. On October 29, 1969, the ARPANET, which enabled multiple computers to communicate with one another on a single network, sent its first message from a computer located at the University of California to another computer located at Stanford. Since then, the Internet has been evolving into a better form. Various applications of the Interplanetary Internet are Misson Status Telemetry, Command and Control, Interconnectivity of intelligent AI-enhanced Robots, Apple Interplanetary, Teleoperation of ESA Robotic Rover, Scientific Data Delivery, and Interplanetary Overlay Network. In this video, Astronautics4Xploit presents "Applications of Interplanetary Internet: A Cosmos System of Interconnected Networks and Nodes". #space #aerospace #astronautics #astronautics4xploit Humanity’s audacious ambition to live and work in space and dig deeper into the cosmos is hinged on the ability to have unhindered in-space transportation. Having gas stations positioned in space will help to prolong the lives of satellites without fuel and, ultimately, lead to high return on investment. The future desire of humanity to send humans to the Moon and to engage in Mars-bound crewed spacecraft from the Moon or near the Moon will become much easier and affordable with the establishment of space gas stations in Earth’s orbit, Moon’s orbit or on the lunar surface. Spacecraft servicing gas stations depots, located on celestial bodies or interplanetary space, would help to extend the lifetime of spacecraft that have nearly consumed their orbital maneuvering fuel. Examples are spacecraft placed in a geosynchronous orbit. Several space gas stations and propellant depots design strategies have been put forward for in-space refueling. The design strategies include propellant settling and transfer, propellant usage for attitude control and reboost, the maturity of the refrigeration equipment/cryocoolers, and the power and mass required for reduced or zero boiloff depots with refrigeration. In this video, Astronautics4Xploit presents "Space Gas Stations: The Necessity & Design Strategies: Humanity’s Exploration Audacious Ambition". The focus points are Space Gas Stations, The Necessity of Space Gas Stations, Earth and Space Storable Propellants & Depot Fuels, and Space Gas Stations Company. #space #aerospace #astronautics #astronautics4xploit For several decades, space missions, missions to unravel the mystery of the universe and to enhance humans’ quality of life on the Earth and in space, have been invested into. These missions had been majorly launched from the Earth. Based on the high Earth’s gravitational pull, it is very costly to get into the orbit. Rockets launched from the Earth must carry the fuel needed to get to their respective destinations. To ease space transportation, efforts are being channeled towards developing space gas stations' missions that will help the establishment of space gas stations. Over the years, various space gas stations approaches, and technology demonstrations have been put forward. Examples are Orbital Propellant Depot 1970 concept, Orbital propellant depot - Space transportation system of 1971, an evolved propellant depot concept, Astroscale Prototype Servicer for Refueling (APS-R), Spacecraft-Spacecraft Fluid Transfer Depot, and a host of others. The 1970 orbital propellant depot concept involves a Nuclear Shuttle docked to an Orbital Propellant Depot and a Space Shuttle. The Nuclear Shuttle, in either manned or unmanned mode, would deliver payloads to lunar orbit or other destinations then return to Earth orbit for refueling and additional missions. An evolved propellant depot is another proposed concept. It involves starting with Liquid Oxygen (LOX), the heaviest propellant, adding Liquid Hydrogen (LH2) or Hydrocarbons later to increase performance. Depots could be increased in size, adding more tanks or more fuel, as needed. In this video, Astronautics4Xploit presents "Space Gas Stations Missions & Technology Demonstrations: Turning of Space Gas Stations into Reality". The focus points are Space Gas Stations Technology and Space Gas Stations Approaches & Technology Demonstration. #space #aerospace #astronautics #astronautics4xploit The space tow truck, an endeavor to clean up the highly trafficked region of the Earth's orbit and remove defunct satellites, is receiving tremendous attention and investment because of the proliferation of the satellites in Earth’s orbit and the space debris becoming a big issue. The higher the space exploration rates the higher the generated space debris. Research findings show that millions of space junk, such as spent rocket stages, dead satellites, etc., are abound in space and are of great threat to the functioning satellites and trillions of dollars of space investment. Over the years, various proposals of space tow-truck have been put forward and implemented by space companies such as NORTHROP GRUMMAN, ClearSpace, Blue Origin, Impulse Space, Effective Space, and a host of others. Several space tow truck ideas and concepts had been floated. Clearspace-1, the ClearSpace company’s concept, is an unmanned 'tow truck' spacecraft designed to target part of an ESA rocket that has been floating about 435 miles above Earth since 2013. Northrup Grumman Space Logistics is developing a fleet of space tow trucks to help other companies' satellites live in orbit around Earth a bit longer. Northrop Grumman's Mission Extension Vehicle-1 (MEV-1), whose mission is to essentially act as a space tow truck, was successfully launched into orbit. Blue Origin, Impulse Space, and a host of others are researching and developing space tow truck spacecraft that will help to move payload after being blasted into space. In this video, Astronautics4Xploit presents "Space Tow Truck & Its Emerging Companies: A Multi-Billion Dollar Endeavor for Spacecraft Servicing". #space #aerospace #astronautics #astronautics4xploit For many centuries, based on the priceless natural wonders and abundant resources it encapsulated, the Moon has been an object of interest to humanity and, as a result, various lunar missions have been undertaken and are being planned to unravel the mysteries abound on the Moon. Various government space agencies and private space companies are investing in technologies that will help humanity push forward the Moon exploration. The commencement of the lunar exploration is dated back to the 1950s. Luna 1, the first spacecraft to fly by the Moon, was launched in 1959 followed by the Luna 9 which achieved the first soft landing in 1966. Afterward, various lunar landers and orbiters missions have been developed and launched to the Moon. For many years, efforts are been made to develop lunar gas stations in lunar orbit or on the lunar surface. This is to aid deep space exploration. Research findings show that refueling near the moon would allow for humans to get to Mars much more efficiently than launching from Earth with all the resources onboard. Various companies are planning, researching, and investing in the establishment of lunar fueling stations. The lunar fueling stations are to be used for refueling spacecraft and to support people that will be living in space within the next 30 years. Examples of lunar space gas station companies are Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Cislune, Shackleton Energy Company, The Moon Express, and a host of others. In this video, Astronautics4Xploit presents "Lunar Space Gas Station: A Driver of Interplanetary Space Exploration & Human Space Settlement". #space #aerospace #astronautics #astronautics4xploit Spacecraft In-Orbit Servicing, a disruptive and innovative approach for in-orbit repair, in-orbit manufacturing, life extension, inspection, active debris removal, and spacecraft in-orbit refueling, has been envisioned for a long period of time to guarantee return on investment. Based on the decrease in the costs of launching commercial satellites and the rise of low orbit, rather than geostationary, satellites for which servicing costs are less, there is an astronomical increase in the design and development of in-orbit servicing techniques and high commercial interest. In-orbit servicing, a new frontier of space services, involves autonomous or telerobotic servicing of a spacecraft. This could be achieved either via robotic spacecraft or by human astronauts, for example as in the case of servicing of the International Space Station (ISS). For several decades, various in-orbit servicing approaches had been proposed and demonstrated. Examples are Spacecraft De-orbiting & Re-orbiting, Spacecraft Relocation & Deployment, Orbit and positioning maneuvers, Spacecraft Recycling & Salvaging, Station-keeping and inspection of active satellites, In-orbit assembly & Units Delivery, Spacecraft Refueling, Debris Removal and a host of others. Presently, expired rockets and defunct satellites, that became space debris, are serious issue for companies and organizations planning to launch mega-constellations, particularly in the Low Earth Orbit (LEO). As a result, private space companies and government space agencies are developing spacecraft de-orbiting technologies to drag satellites to the graveyard orbit, and, in the process, help to minimize the risk of space debris. In this video, Astronautics4Xploit presents "Spacecraft In-Orbit Servicing & Approaches: Disruptive Approaches for In-Orbit Repair & Refueling". #space #aerospace #astronautics #astronautics4xploit For centuries humans have been fascinated by the universe and its compositions. The fascination led to the development of revolutionary and disruptive technologies that helped humans to discover what lies in the cosmos and to dig deeper into the deep space. The proliferation of low-cost launch vehicles and the development of innovative and disruptive autonomous rendezvous and docking technologies of small satellites has led to the increase in interest in in-orbit servicing operations. Presently, large spacecraft are being assembled in-orbit via launching of autonomous and smaller units and components. This is unlike before where large spacecraft would have to be assembled on the Earth and then launched into space using large boosters. Examples of In-Orbit Servicing Missions & Technology Demonstrations, developed over the years by space companies, include End-of-Life Services by Astroscale (ELSA), Active Debris Removal by Astroscale (ADRAS), In-situ Debris Environment Analysis OSG1 (IDEA OSG1), Commercial Removal of Debris Demonstration project (CRD2), Cleaning Outer Space Mission, Clearspace-1, and a host of others. The End-of-Life Services by Astroscale (ELSA) program is a spacecraft retrieval service for satellite operators. ELSA-d (demonstration) is the first mission to demonstrate the core technologies necessary for debris docking and removal. It was launched on 22 March 2021. JAXA’s has Commercial Removal of Debris Demonstration (CRD2) mission is being planned to actively remove large debris of Japanese origin in cooperation with private companies. It aims to make tangible progress in international discussions and increase the attractiveness of Japanese companies in the orbital services market.
