"What's interesting is what you are DOING to improve #healthequity" -Marty Makary M.D., M.P.H. with Peter Attia This resonates with us, that's why in 2023 we provided $25,000+ and 200+ hours worth of sports medicine care, to #underserved athletes through our ERA (Elite Rehab Accelerator) program. Special thanks to all of our partners and visionaries like Evolution Physical Therapy #embraceinnovation https://lnkd.in/gZraHr6h

AT L.A.S.T. in Paris. Our Co-Founder and CEO, Christopher D. Bates, ATC, RSCC representing us well!
What an incredible journey, and another milestone achieved! I’m thrilled to support such a dedicated and talented team, and I couldn’t be prouder of the USA Men’s Water Polo Team for clinching the bronze medal—the first in 16 years! 🇺🇸🥉🇺🇸 This victory is a testament to the hard work, discipline, and relentless pursuit of excellence that our athletes bring to the pool every day. As their Sr. Sports Medicine Mgr, I’m honored to play a role in this journey and to contribute to a culture that fosters growth, resilience, and achievement. A special shoutout to our exceptional leader, Coach Dejan Udovicic, whose vision and guidance have been instrumental in this success. Onward and upward! 🇺🇸💪 #TeamUSA #WaterPolo #BronzeMedal #HighPerformance #Leadership #SportsExcellence #Riverside

In today’s society, youth from #underserved communities face a myriad of barriers to development and success. Programs specifically designed to support young individuals play a crucial role in providing equitable #opportunities and resources to thrive. Organizations like Youth Guidance and AT L.A.S.T. are leading the way with #connection. Special shout out to Casswell Goodman and Serge Severe for bringing us all together, and special shoutout to these generous humans: Dr. Kristen Ross Aaron Ngor Victor Pulido, PhD, AT for their time, knowledge, passion, and vulnerability. Erik Duda made something out of nothing with this video! Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gZArs6_R

#Blackathletes carry 5 x's the risk of Sudden Cardiac Death/Arrest in comparison to white athletes. Yet old standards are often perpetuated despite new evidence. The typical Pre-participation cardiovascular screening (PPCS) across the United States consists only of history and physical exam, despite EKG being 5 x more sensitive than history, and 10 x more sensitive than physical exam. Cost and lack of access to appropriate healthcare are two of the driving factors to why this scenario continues. With all of our initiatives at AT L.A.S.T. we seek scalable solutions. Jonathan Drezner and colleagues have proposed a risk based approach that is just that. AT L.A.S.T. is creating initiatives that will provide EKG screenings for higher risk groups, in underserved and underrepresented communities, during annual PPCS events. Access to quality healthcare impacts social mobility. It has been documented that the Preparticipation Physical Evaluation (PPE), more commonly known as “sports physicals,” is the only touch point that a high school athlete has, on an annual basis, with the healthcare system. Unfortunately, most PPE offerings fail to provide appropriate interventions to reduce risk of injury or illness, assess mental health, or provide appropriate follow up when necessary. In general, value often fails to align with cost. As one of our flagship programs to bring #healthequity to athletes from #underserved and #underrepresented communities, we are excited to announce that we are hosting our inaugural PPE that will be sensitive, accurate, practical, and affordable. Our first PPE offering will take place on July 10th from 12-5pm at Leuzinger High School (Christina Scutti, MS, ATC) in partnership with No Res Gourmet AT L.A.S.T.'s PPE is low cost to the participant, offers the highest value one could expect during a PPE, increases health equity, overcomes barriers to access and care, and contains the following tenets: •Robust #mentalhealth screening (PHQ / Stress Scale / Tobacco, ETOH, Drug screening) with onsite mental health providers. •Sensitive assessments for evaluating and appropriately addressing risk of emergency situations related to cardiac and pulmonary conditions, concussion, sickle cell, and heat illness. •#implicitbias and #Toxicstress training for all of our allied healthcare providers who have touchpoints with athletes.
