It might be summer, but there’s no shortage of learning among New Jersey students! We’re sparking curiosity about #STEM in young minds as we partner with the Exelon Foundation, Rowan College of South Jersey and The NEED Project for our first-ever ACE-Celerate! STEM Summer Camp. Over the course of two weeks, over 40 local students are exploring the wonders of energy and the science behind it through interactive activities about the carbon cycle, solar power, and much more. A highlight was the Solar Oven Challenge, where they learned about solar and thermal energy to make their own ovens. Stay tuned for more updates as our curious campers continue to learn how #energy plays a role in our daily lives!

Today is #NationalInternDay! We celebrate the visionaries who bring new ideas and energy to our team. Get to know one of our interns, Federico, who has wanted to become an engineer his whole life. His biggest lesson learned from his internship at Atlantic City Electric is to “Keep an open mind and be a life-long learner. The energy industry demands you to have a broad set of skills that if maintain your eyes and ears open, you will learn them quick.”

We had over 50 volunteers who supported the Gilda's Club of South Jersey Dragon Boat Festival at Lake Lenape! Despite our dragon boat teams not qualifying for medals, they achieved first and second place in their heats. We extend our gratitude to AARG PHI for partnering with NEW ACE for the second consecutive year. Events like these highlight our commitment to community engagement and teamwork.

During Welcome Day for this year’s SPARK interns, local students met withdepartment leaders, spoke with previous program members and toured our command center and indoor substation. As SPARK participants, students receive advanced STEM education through hands-on learning and mentorship from our employees. They also get the chance to explore their interest in STEM fields and develop professional skills, opening pathways into the energy field at a young age and helping shape the next generation of leaders.
