Our most recent She Leads program day, “You Miss 100% of the Shots You Don't Take,” focused on the game of golf and the correlation between sports and taking bold swings within one’s career journey. The program day explored navigating male-dominated spaces, removing gender norms and remembering the importance of taking chances in life. She Leaders received lessons that made the famous saying from Ben Hogan, "The most important shot in golf is the next one," more relatable. We discussed showing up confidently as the “only” in the room and how to break barriers with elegance and sisterhood.   A special thank you to TopGolf for hosting us and to Sarah Miller, Edgar Evans, Summer Sirmons and Akilah Water for speaking to our She Leaders on how to leverage the sport of golf to continue climbing. We would also like to thank Keyeriah and LaShonda Miles, co-founders of Ladies Who Golf, along with Nailah Banks-Embden and Natalee Anderson, for sharing their inspiring journeys and creating inclusive spaces in golf that empower women to step out of their comfort zones and thrive.

They continue to pour into our community and the various ways in which we all thrive.

We are deeply saddened by the news of Dikembe Mutombo’s passing. Dikembe was a proud and honorable man, who lived up to the definition of a word that became synonymous with his name – humanitarian. He used his many gifts and his platform to improve the lives of everyone he encountered, especially in his homeland of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and throughout Africa. His passion for the game, its growth and the joy he brought to defense – including his undeniable presence and iconic ‘finger wag’ – made him a star on the court and with the fans around the globe. I was fortunate to have been able to call him a friend. My family and I were beyond proud to have him represent the Hawks organization on and off the court. With his jersey in the rafters, his life and legacy will always be remembered in Atlanta. This year’s Open Practice will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13   Get an exclusive preview of Hawks’ 2024-25 roster, featuring three-time NBA All-Star guard Trae Young, the first overall draft pick in the 2024 NBA Draft Zaccharie Risacher, as well as other key members of the roster including Bogdan Bogdanović, Clint Capela, Dyson Daniels, De’Andre Hunter, Jalen Johnson and Onyeka Okongwu.
