Startup company focused on developing enhanced-performance materials for metal additive manufacturing.
About us
AtoMe (pronounced Atom-E) is a startup company seeking to leverage the exciting capabilities of 3D printing to design enhanced materials for high-need sectors such as energy, transportation, and aviation/aerospace. By developing unique nanoparticle-reinforced powders and adopting a machine learning high-throughput approach to optimization, we can improve the properties of today's best-in-class metals faster than ever before and in a way that is highly customizable to the specific needs of the end-user. Born out of research conducted for nuclear fusion reactors by its founders at MIT, AtoMe's materials achieve higher strength, better temperature resistance, and improved radiation survivability, while also decreasing the cracking and pore formation traditionally found in 3D printed metals.

Join us on Day 1 at the Technology Showcase for the presentation - High-Performance 3D Printing Through Metal Matrix Composites. Presented by: Alexander O'Brien, CEO and Co-Founder, AtoMe Inc Showcase Description: With advancements in technology over the last several years, additive manufacturing has reached a level of maturity that allows researchers to look outside of geometric design and consider how the unique mechanisms involved can result in powerful, never-before-seen alloy compositions. Metal matrix composites, in which small quantities of ceramics are added as strengthening agents and property modifiers, are among the most developed of these new types of compositions, but the room for exploration and improvement is still vast. In this talk, we will explore how new startup company AtoMe Inc is developing metal matrix composites to address advanced technology challenges such as nuclear fusion, as well as how the technology can be applied across the 3D printing industry to improve quality and printability and access new applications with high quality materials. ➡️ View the full conference agenda: https://lnkd.in/eyPvDQQc ➡️ Register for free: https://vist.ly/3e6nb #AMU24 #TheAdvancedMaterialsShowUSA #MST24 #AdvancedMaterials #Nanotechnology #Ceramics #Conference #Expo #Science #Graphene #Materials

Both in the US and globally, government and police forces are constantly seeking out methods to modernize and improve public safety and security. Events over the last several days have further underscored the escalating urgency of these improvements and highlighted the need for immediate advancement. Last month, I had the privilege of presenting at the 2024 White Hat Conference in Korea, where we collectively explored the impact that AI and robotics are set to make in crime prevention and response. As a distinguished speaker, I shared the AtoMe team's latest developments in ballistic armor for surveillance patrol robots. This technology represents a significant step forward in our commitment to promote a cleaner, greener, and safer society. Advances in materials are a key aspect of all major technological jumps, and I am profoundly grateful to the White Hat Conference organizers, Prof. Kyung-Shick Choi for allowing us to contribute our expertise towards finding solutions in a world desperately in need of better security measures.

AtoMe is committed to civil safety and security. In the digital age, advanced technology like AI and robotics are beginning to play a major role in the world of safety, but innovation in hard tech like metallurgy has to go hand-in-hand. As producers of innovative, nano-reinforced materials, AtoMe is exploring how stronger, lighter metals can pair with protective robotics to provide enhanced safety in critical situations like active shooter scenarios. We are excited to announce our participation in the White Hat Conference in Korea from June 26-28, where we will have the opportunity to share our advancements in ballistic shielding and to learn from the emergency response community about how we can do our part to provide a safer tomorrow! https://lnkd.in/eB5SDji9
