Interventional Pulmonary Services at Aurora Medical Center – Kenosha held a community event to celebrate program milestones and raise awareness of the importance of screenings for early detection. Led by Dr. Hasnain Bawaadam, the Interventional Pulmonary and Respiratory Care Services team uses advanced robotic probes that can detect cancer earlier than ever before. The non-invasive procedure enables doctors to view deep into minute lung passages to detect abnormalities unseen by a regular probe. The 550th procedure using the robotic probe, as well as the one-year anniversary of a new state-of-the art lab were celebrated. Attendees got hands-on experience with the robot and learned more about lung cancer in the educational inflatable mega lungs, at information tables, and by talking with pulmonary specialists.
