About your hosts: Ali G was born in Mexico 🇲🇽. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology. Before starting her own engineering company she spent 10 years in engineering. She started in process engineering and then transitioned to controls. She was part of a greenfield build early in her career and learned how procurement works. She eventually went on to run a UL508a panel shop and spent years traveling the US starting up burner and gas train control applications. Today she provides controls engineering services across the US through her company Process and Controls Engineering LLC. She also Founded the 501c3 Non Profit Kids PLC Kits to expose the younger generations to real industrial controls. Nikki Gonzales was born in Iceland 🇮🇸 After graduating from the University of Texas she started her career as a sales engineer in machine vision and mechatronics where she spent 10 years in the field implementing and supporting automation solutions in a variety of industries. She then transitioned to the design side of engineering with multi-physics simulation for virtual prototyping, and later jumped into the world of tech startups applying big data and AI to the supply chain chain for accurate forecasting and inventory optimization. Today she is Head of Partnerships at Quotebeam a software company providing modern ecommerce to industrial automation distributors. She also serves as a member of the board of directors at PCE. Courtney Fernandez is an occasional co-host. "The Power of Vulnerability in Leadership" Recently, I’ve been embracing my vulnerability, both in and out of the workplace. Inspired by thought leaders Trevor Noah and Simon Sinek—two voices that couldn’t be more relevant for today’s world—I’ve learned how impactful it can be to openly show what I don’t know and admit when I have doubts. Even with years of experience and a track record of success, self-doubt still finds its way in. But what I’ve found is that by showing my vulnerability, I’ve actually strengthened my relationships and helped those around me feel safe to do the same. Vulnerability sends the message: “It’s okay to not have all the answers.” Check out this video featuring Noah and Sinek (link attached). This will be a strange post. This one will be about my "American" Experience. It started kinda rough because bullying is part of being a child. I formed the opinion in high school that "we are all dysfunctional" one way or another. Ann Wyatts birthday was yesterday and mine is on Thursday. We are hard-core Scorpios. Shes from Albama and she sounds like it. I'm from Mexico and I grew up in Hawaii. I can speak Spanish & Pidgeon English. I'm incredibly grateful to be American. I feel incredibly blessed to do whatever the hell I want...whenever I want to. Success is NOT guaranteed, but there ARE opportunities here for all walks of life. It's possible to compete with the ultra rich by becoming a spokesperson for middle class. It was a nightmare this morning. Someone thought it was a great idea to hold a marathon in downtown Chicago on the first day of PACK EXPO. All of the roads were closed and it took an hour to get here from our hotel. That alone wouldn't have been so bad, but since they didn't have everything done we couldn't finish booth set up last night and we really needed to arrive early and not late. Oh well, we're here and open for business at N-6301. My blood pressure is finally coming back down to normal. Let's do this. #conveyorcougar #showlife #packexpo2024
