  • G&H Import Auto Parts, Inc., a shareholder of Automotive Parts Associates, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this month. Located in Oak Lawns, IL, the company specializes in distributing Asian and European automotive parts along with performance accessories. Established in 1974 by Gene Bochinski and his cousin, G&H Import Auto Parts originated from the challenges posed by the 1970s gas crisis and the scarcity of foreign car parts at the time. In 2005, G&H Auto Parts joined APA after learning about the organization at a SIPS (Society of Import Parts Specialists) meeting and attending an Annual General Meeting. “I was so impressed by the connection that people had with others in the room,” said Gene, “It’s still my favorite part of being in a group like APA.” “We are glad that Gene is a part of APA,” said Steve Tucker, President of APA. “He’s done great work with G&H and we hope to work with him for many more years to come.” Reflecting on the past five decades, Gene shared, “The automotive business is evolving constantly. If you take a month off, you are already behind. One of the great things about being in business so long is that I’ve made a lot of really good friends.” For more information about G&H Import Auto Parts, visit their website at www.ghimport.com.

APA is a proud supporter of the #RightToRepair. We believe that people should have the right to maintain and fix their vehicles at the repair facility, both independent and dealer, of their choice, rather than having to rely solely on the manufacturer or authorized repair shops to do so. All staff has used RepairAct.com to send letters to our legislators telling them that we need the Right To Repair, right now! Ted Hughes, MAAP, we have accepted your challenge, and now we are challenging Joe Stephan, The Pronto Network, and Automotive Parts Services Group to also send a letter and tag another three people to help get bill #HR906 over the finish line. Learn more at RepairAct.com.

  • Automotive Parts Associates is excited to introduce Technology Auto Parts, a new startup based in Plano, TX, as the newest TruStar member. Mohamad-Hadi Saeed, the owner and CEO, shared his enthusiasm for joining TruStar, stating, "After researching the organization and speaking with various APA shareholders like Edward Harake from Value Plus Auto Parts, it became apparent that joining will really help us and give us a good head start. I’ve got a lot of great, knowledgeable people helping me get started and 20 to 30 commercial customers on day one. TruStar will be the last piece of the puzzle.” Steve Tucker, President of APA, expressed his satisfaction with Mohamad and Technology Auto Parts joining TruStar, mentioning, "We are delighted to welcome Mohamad and Technology Auto Parts to TruStar. We enjoy collaborating with startups and new ventures. It's inspiring to witness someone like Mohamad, who previously handled accounting at another auto parts store, venture out on his own. We are eager to support his growth." The official opening of Technology Auto Parts is scheduled for early October.

Last week, APA's Board of Directors and Staff escaped the office and traveled to Branson, MO for the annual board retreat! During the retreat, we discussed strategy to continue APA/TruStar's continued growth and success, but still found time to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Ozarks. Thank you to staff for their hard work in putting this retreat together, the board for their time, and to Agility Auto Parts, DENSO, Holstein Parts, CSF Radiators, and CTR America for sponsoring our meals.

  • Have you ever gone through the drive thru only to find out your window won’t roll down? It can be even more frustrating if it won't go back up, especially when rain is on the way. To assist with this issue, installers can receive a $5 rebate per Dorman Products window regulator or motor purchased this month from an APA/TruStar distributor via an eBiz Nexpart website. To be eligible, a minimum purchase of two units is required, with a maximum of 5 redemptions allowed.
