The use of autonomous tractors and driverless vehicles in farming is more than just technology—it’s addressing real challenges like labor shortages, sustainability and efficiency. Our portfolio company, Agtonomy is working with John Deere to bring cutting-edge AI solutions to help farmers reduce costs, boost productivity, and manage their fields with precision. As investors, we believe this is just the beginning of how autonomy and robotics will reshape the future of food production. #AgTech #Autonomy #AI #Farming #VentureCapital #Sustainability #FutureOfFarming #Agtonomy #LaborShortage

At Autotech Ventures we keep investing in off-road autonomy. Unlike any public road vehicles, the autonomous tractors, forklifts, and bulldozers are operating 1) in well-defined environments, 2) on private land, 3) at low speeds, and 4) without random people around. The off-road vehicles provide an immediate ROI to the enterprise customers such as mine operators, logistics providers, or farmers. Further, such companies tend to be much more capital efficient than the public road autonomy startups, which is important in the current funding environment. We are excited to partner with an amazing Agtonomy's team, helping the company to reach its full potential. With the exceedingly erratic weather and shrinking labor availability, agricultural robotics and autonomy is a must to keep the US agriculture going. Go Agtonomy and Verdant Robotics, go!
Agtonomy raises $32.8M to turn tractors into robots and build beyond ag 🌾 🚜 🤖 🏭 📈 The US-based startup has just secured $10M in additional funding, closing out its Series A round on $32.8M. Autotech Ventures led the round, with participation from new investors Rethink Food, Allison Transmission, and Black Forest Ventures and existing backers Toyota Ventures, Flybridge, and Cavallo Ventures. Agtonomy - which has developed an AI-powered platform to automate tractors and farm implements - will use the funds to grow its technical team, expand its paid pilot program for permanent crops, and develop technology solutions for other industrial markets. "Agtonomy's innovative approach aligns with our mission to revolutionize mobility and automation across various sectors, starting with off-road autonomy," Alexei Andreev, founding partner of Autotech Ventures, said in a statement. "Their unique business model, which combines software expertise with established OEM partnerships, positions them to lead the transformation to autonomous fleet management." The startup has also announced that Sterling Anderson, co-founder and chief product officer of self-driving pioneer Aurora, is joining its board of directors. "Agriculture is a vast and essential element of the human experience. Autonomy can make it better," said Anderson, who will be sitting alongside other board members including Agtonomy co-founders Tim Bucher and Valerie Syme as well as John Deere's former vice-president of automation and autonomy Jorge Heraud. #agrifood #agrifoodtech #agtech #agritech #cleantech #climatetech #automation #robotics #autonomy #selfdriving #autonomousvehicles Image credit: Agtonomy

Auba's analysis uses data from the IMF and World Bank to map the impact of severe weather on global trade routes. As extreme weather events increase, logistics operators will need better tools to protect supply chains and ensure smooth trade operations. Learn more in the link below. #GlobalTrade #Logistics #ExtremeWeather #SupplyChainResilience #Disruptions
🌀 Just how much do hurricanes impact global trade? We found that over a fourth of ports have suffered disruptions from intense weather events ⬇
