Day 2 of Hawaii's Law Enforcement High-Performance Resuscitation Train-the-Trainer course takes those in the course from student to instructor. Course participants develop their own reality-based training scenarios and work through the challenges which present themselves to give their students the best training they can. Avive's 4 Minute Community Program seeks to bridge the crucial gap between a cardiac arrest and the arrival of professional emergency responders. By leveraging historic Sudden Cardiac Arrest data in specific areas, the program equips CPR-trained citizen volunteers Avive Connect AEDs, who can then be alerted by 911 and dispatched to nearby emergencies via a mapping system. Kim Bybee, parks manager in City of Carrollton, was inspired to improve public access to AEDs after seeing a 24/7 accessible one at a sports complex. Two years later, the city has installed eight SaveStations equipped with Avive Connect AEDs.
