Exploring the Origins of Machine Sentry Mobile 2 and Fixed 2: A Journey of Innovation. In our fourth post this week, we’re diving deeper into two of our flagship products, Machine Sentry Mobile 2 and Machine Sentry Fixed 2. While these represent the latest advancements in our technology, where did it all begin? As mentioned in Monday’s post, our goal with Machine Sentry was to revolutionize route-based vibration monitoring. Traditional systems relied on bulky legacy vibration analyzers with cumbersome wired sensors, short battery life, and long processing times. We knew there had to be a better way. Machine Sentry Mobile 1: The Beginning In 2015, we launched our first solution, Machine Sentry Mobile 1. It introduced Bluetooth pairing with Android devices, allowing operators to capture single or tri-axis vibration data and non-contact temperature readings. The device turned any smartphone or tablet into a powerful, fast data collector—up to five times faster than traditional analyzers. It enabled users to: Easily take three-axis or single-axis data Measure casing temperatures Power ICP accelerometers via a 4th input Perform real-time visual inspections Analyze on the spot and compare current to past data All of this is at a fraction of the cost of legacy analyzers, with the bonus of being Hazerdous-certified for safe use in hazardous environments like O&G and Chemicals. Machine Sentry Mobile 2: Building on a Legacy Today, our Machine Sentry Mobile 2 takes everything that made the first version great and improves on it, all while maintaining the same accessible price range. We’ve removed the internal rechargeable battery (thanks to advances in technology), enhanced Bluetooth communications, and increased certifications for hazardous environments. It’s efficient, easy to use, and excels at routine vibration monitoring. Machine Sentry Fixed 2: Meeting Client Demands Our second major product, Machine Sentry Fixed, emerged in response to client demands back in 2018. Clients wanted a solution for hard-to-reach or intermittently running assets, particularly those with known failure modes that required close monitoring. So, we built MSF from the ground up with: Hazardous area certification Internal storage (no reliance on networks or gateways) Tri-axial vibration measurement Standard battery with extended communication range Industry-leading vibration capabilities at a highly competitive price Today, MSF2 is the go-to device for both route-based and gateway data collection, featuring a 64g selectable accelerometer, machine running detection, and IP and hazardous ratings that make it stand out in the market. Why Settle for Less? So why limit yourself to hardware companies that rely solely on gateways or single-technology platforms? Want to learn more or challenge us? Let’s talk! https://lnkd.in/gxrG-5s

From Vision to Innovation: The Journey of Machine Sentry® This week, first up we are diving into the origins of Machine Sentry, which began over 15 years ago. In 2009, we set out to develop a web-based vibration software package that could match the functionality of legacy software, but with the added flexibility of a web-based platform. Our goal? To simplify database creation using ISO 10816 component templates and offer clients easier access to their data without the need for expensive product support plans or upgrade fees that many suppliers still require today. Key challenges we aimed to address included: No more reliance on client IT teams to upgrade software via onsite servers. Simplifying data sharing across cross-functional teams with embedded KPIs and scheduling. Making asset health data easily accessible, without the need for additional costs or cumbersome processes. We also tackled one of the biggest hurdles: transitioning from Word and Excel-based reporting to a streamlined reporting system that generates reports on the spot. It’s astonishing that many programs still operate on outdated methods! Since 2009, our vibration software has evolved significantly. Here’s how it works: We capture vibration data as raw time waveforms, this approach speeds up data collection, no more standing around waiting for slow hardware to finish calculations. It also allows analysts to process data with a range of techniques, from acceleration and velocity and “Impacting” demodulation. Our software now offers: Flexible, customizable dashboards, Full cursor suites, Embedded bearing catalogs and fault frequency identifiers, Signal filters, and statistical alarms. Tools like waterfall plots, band alarms, and more, everything a professional analyst needs. Automated Diagnostics with ADA In 2016, we took a giant leap forward. We brought together our top experts (CAT IVs and Technical Authorities) and developed an algorithm to automatically analyze vibration data using standard vibration theory, without the need for learning periods. This innovation, ADA (Automated Diagnostic Assistant), empowers non-experts to diagnose issues like: Bearing failures (stages 2, 3, or 4), Unbalance, misalignment, bent shafts, and resonance, Gear tooth wear, backlash, and more Next-Generation Machine Sentry: Faster, Smarter, More Customizable! Our latest upgrade has pushed Machine Sentry even further ahead. The software is faster and more responsive, with statistical alarms computing ten times quicker. Signal processing now happens directly in your browser, greatly improving performance. New features include: Customizable system settings for language, timezone, dark/light modes, and vibration units. Enhanced data accessibility with fully customizable formats and a bulk update feature. Over 30 widgets for personalized, site-specific, and global dashboards. Machine Sentry® has come a long way since 2009, and we’re excited about the journey ahead!
