Great to see solar coming to the micromobility market! We had the pleasure of advising Skyhook Solar. Great work! Azimuth Advisory Services www.azimuth-ventures.com
Last month, our team launched 4 solar-powered charging stations in Washington, D.C., in collaboration with Skyhook Solar canopies. This project brought 100 e-bike charging docks to life, thanks to the efforts of many and a grant from the DOEE. Sending a big congratulations to the Lyft / Capital Bikeshare team! We look forward to collaborating on many more sustainable investments in urban mobility in the future. https://lnkd.in/enGXfkBN

The second order effects of our efforts are often not recognized. When we think about the impact of the energy transisition, we should look at least one layer deeper. It’s an incredibly different world when it’s complete. Azimuth Advisory Services www.azimuth-ventures.com
Another great argument for PV! ☀️☀️ 👉Transitioning to 100% renewables not only means clean energy but also a significant reduction in global emissions! 🌍 ☝️Switching to 100% renewable energy could make up to 50% of large tankers transporting coal and oil obsolete. Considering that global shipping accounts for nearly 3% of global CO2 emissions, that's a massive opportunity for further reduction. 💪If we phased out 50% of these tankers, we could cut about 300 million tons of CO2 annually – equivalent to taking nearly 65 million cars off the road each year! ✊️This is another crucial reason why accelerating the renewable transition is a win-win for both the planet and the economy. Let's work towards a cleaner, more sustainable future. 💡🌱

Resileincy and reliability are two different things. Dispute the PV industries efforts to continually improve both, there are moments for which insurance is the obvious answer. Azimuth Advisory Services’ forensic engineering can help regardless. As usual Bill Nussey isn’t missing a thing. Texas is out in front because when the free market listens, renewables is the obvious answer. Azimuth Advisory Services www.azimuth-ventures.com
When it comes to powering the grid, Texas is easily the most free market state in the US. They are lightly regulated and let the market define their grid more than other states. Of course, the lack of regulation can lead to problems, like we saw with the broad outages during the winter of 2021. But, the state also serves as a laboratory for how to build a market-driven grid while keeping costs down (TX electricity prices are below the national average). So, when I saw this recent report on the adoption of renewables in Texas, I was surprised to see how far ahead they are compared to the rest of the US. Even with a 33% smaller population than California, Texas is way out in front of every other state in solar, batteries, and wind. [edited: thx PS] To my energy-peeps... am I missing something? https://lnkd.in/eNjA8NE4 #cleanenergy #solarenergy #solarpower #Texas #windpower #batteries #grid

Based on the last couple DOE funding rounds…this seems quite accurate. The public investment in this space has been impressive. Azimuth Advisory Services www.azimuth-ventures.com

The hot shots of hot rocks think geothermal energy is the next big thing. This once-sleepy business is about to be transformed by technologies borrowed from the oil industry including fracking. Fervo Energy, a Texan upstart, has just unveiled technological progress suggesting the industry is approaching its Mitchell moment--as happened when George Mitchell, another scrappy Texan energy disruptor, showed how hydraulic fracturing could spark the shale revolution. How far can next-generation geothermal go? Find out in my new story, just published on our Science pages. #geothermal #shale #fracking #MitchellMoment #FervoEnergy #DOE #climatetech #cleanenergy #cleanfirmpower #Google #SCE #drilling
