How is a truck scale calibrated? It all begins with a certified technician arriving on-site with a test truck. Here's a quick rundown of the process: 1. The technician unloads a certified test cart, equipped with 25,000 lbs of test weights. 2. The test cart is then run across each section of the truck scale, with the results recorded—this is known as the "as found" condition. 3. Next, the technician adjusts the scale using the junction box, fine-tuning each section to ensure the weights match up perfectly. 4. After adjustments, the calibration is performed. 5. Finally, the test cart and weights are reloaded into the truck, and the sections are checked again. 6. The process concludes with a full-truck test and completing the "as left" section of the calibration report. B-TEK's NTEP-approved truck scales and indicators make this process a breeze. This thorough process ensures your truck scale delivers precise and reliable measurements every time.
