Q: What makes your company unique in the battery industry?
A: Sylvatex is a scaleup battery materials company located in the California bay area developing innovative, cost-effective, and scalable solutions for producing cathode active materials domestically for lithium-ion batteries. Using our proprietary, water-free, solid state method, Sylvatex is working to position itself as a domestic supplier of premium battery materials to support the domestic push towards the electrification of everything while enabling cleaner, greener industrial processes.
Q: What is your company doing now and where do you hope to see it in 3 years?
A: Sylvatex has continued to grow and adapt to the changing battery landscape. We recently have put significant focus into sending out materials to our EV, ESS customers to start material validation while working towards building out a pilot line to demonstrate process scalability.
Q: What was important to you when choosing an incubator?
A: The three key factors are time, cost, being covered by their EPA permit umbrella, and ensuring safe operation and rapid progress.
Q: What have you been able to achieve during your time at BADASS Labs?
A: Being part of BADASS Lab’s dynamic community has propelled our growth, allowing us to rapidly advance our technology and bring our solutions to market faster.

A: The unique combination of co-working business space with private chemistry labs under the same roof has created an unparalleled environment for innovation.
Q: What piece of advice would you give to young scientists starting out today?
A: Being able to communicate complex topics in a clear and efficient way is as important as the research itself. Whether it’s posting on Linkedin, giving talks, or engaging with the public, robust communication skills will amplify the impact of the work.
