Did you know that August is "Beast/Chest Feeding Awareness" month? We gladly support all new moms, with flexible hours, and our dedicated lactation rooms. It is shocking that these spaces aren't required, or even commonplace. Telling a new mom, "just go find a place" is incredibly dismissive and insulting. Essentially every woman who comes for a tour is pleasantly surprised we take this so seriously. Every location we have, throughout the US, will have this. It shouldn't be optional. Everyone deserves support. Join us. info@BADASSLabs.org

They're revolutionizing the production of cathode active materials for lithium-ion batteries using a proprietary water-free, solid-state method. Sylvatex is on a mission to create high-performing industrial and energy solutions that significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Recently, Sylvatex sat down with BADASS Labs to discuss their journey and vision. Here are some highlights: Q: What makes your company unique in the battery industry? A: Sylvatex is a scaleup battery materials company located in the California bay area developing innovative, cost-effective, and scalable solutions for producing cathode active materials domestically for lithium-ion batteries. Using our proprietary, water-free, solid state method, Sylvatex is working to position itself as a domestic supplier of premium battery materials to support the domestic push towards the electrification of everything while enabling cleaner, greener industrial processes. Q: What is your company doing now and where do you hope to see it in 3 years? A: Sylvatex has continued to grow and adapt to the changing battery landscape. We recently have put significant focus into sending out materials to our EV, ESS customers to start material validation while working towards building out a pilot line to demonstrate process scalability. Q: What was important to you when choosing an incubator? A: The three key factors are time, cost, being covered by their EPA permit umbrella, and ensuring safe operation and rapid progress. Incredible and potentially groundbreaking development in the fight against cancer has emerged over the past few months. Researchers at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery have made a serendipitous discovery that could revolutionize the treatment of solid tumors using T-cell therapies. The Discovery: T-cell therapies, which have a good track record on "liquid" or blood cancers, has been adapted to treat solid tumors more effectively. This innovation hinges on a two-step metabolic priming process for T-cells. By initially cultivating T-cells in a nutrient-deficient environment and then transitioning them to a nutrient-rich medium, researchers have significantly enhanced their tumor-targeting capabilities and longevity. Key Insights: Metabolic Priming: The process involves subjecting T cells to a nutrient-deficient environment before transitioning them to a nutrient-rich medium. This induces stress, enhancing their ability to target tumors and develop into long-lasting memory cells. Enhanced Efficacy: Patients treated with these metabolically primed T cells showed a significant increase in tumor reduction compared to conventional methods. Longevity: The T cells exhibited prolonged lifespan and efficacy in combating cancer, akin to a short "keto diet" effect. This unexpected breakthrough underscores the importance of being prepared to seize opportunities that arise unexpectedly in scientific endeavors. At BADASS Labs, we are committed to fostering an environment where such serendipitous discoveries can thrive. If you're a founder passionate about pioneering new cancer therapies, our incubator offers the perfect ecosystem to transform your innovative ideas into reality. Join us and be part of the next wave of transformative treatments! www.BADASSLabs.org #CancerResearch #Therapeutics #Innovation #BADASSLabs #TCellTherapy #Biotech #StartupLife

Exciting news for international entrepreneurs! 🚀 The USCIS has just updated the International Entrepreneur Rule, opening up more opportunities for foreign founders to work and innovate in the United States! Here's what you need to know: • Entrepreneurs can now potentially stay in the US for up to 5 years, with an initial 2.5-year period and a possible extension • Startups must show significant public benefit through rapid growth and job creation potential • Eligibility criteria include recent establishment (within 5 years) and substantial funding ($264,147+ from qualifying investors or $105,659+ in government grants) This is a game-changer for innovation, especially in critical sectors like biotech and climate tech! 🧬🌱 The extended stay period gives founders more time to develop groundbreaking solutions and build successful companies. For biotech entrepreneurs, this means more opportunities to collaborate with top US research institutions and access cutting-edge facilities. Climate tech innovators can tap into the thriving US cleantech ecosystem and contribute to the global fight against climate change. This move by the USCIS demonstrates the US commitment to attracting global talent and fostering innovation. It's a win-win for entrepreneurs and the US economy, promising to drive job creation and technological advancement. Are you an international founder in biotech, climate tech, or another innovative field? This could be your chance to make a mark in the US market! With the planet breaking records year after year for temp and weather related impacts, eventually we will ALL need to focus on technologies to address the situation we are ALL in. Slow the impact, survive the impact and reverse the impact. We need to do all of them and we need to do them soon. Record breaking heat, Beryl smashing records on earliest CAT 5 storm, flooding, the list goes on and on... I believe we will figure this out, but I also believe the longer it takes, the more expensive and more difficult those solutions will be.
