Reporting back from day 1 on the ground at Capitol Hill 🎤🏛 Day 1 was a success! We met with key offices (Senators Booker, Gillibrand, Murkowski & Murray, Representatives Schakowsky, Rochester & Dingle). We discussed the urgent need to: 👩🏾💅Protect vulnerable populations: Women of color and salon workers are disproportionately impacted by harmful chemicals in personal care products. 🚫Ban PFAS: This class of toxic chemicals doesn't belong in product we put on our bodies every day. 🕵️♀️Mandate fragrance transparency: Consumers deserve to know what's hiding behind catch-all terms like “fragrance”, “parfum”, “aroma” and “flavor”. Supporting the Safer Beauty Bill Package and No PFAS in Cosmetics Act is a crucial step towards prioritizing prevention and a healthier future for all. #SaferBeauty4all! #BCPP #CSC #BlackBeautyProject

This two-day trip (July 9 and 10) to Capitol Hill and the White House will also highlight one of BCPP’s most important initiatives, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (CSC), and promote its key legislative priorities. Exciting news...Badger SPF 30 Daily Mineral Sunscreen is officially a winner in the 2024 SELF Healthy Beauty Awards! Now in its twenty-fifth year, this award honors the best new products that help consumers feel good from head to toe. The competition is always fierce, with more than 2,500 submissions from 1,000 brands this year. Only 1,300 products went on to be tested by a team of 53 people made up of SELF editors, skincare enthusiasts, and everyday folks with varying ages, skin tones and types, hair textures, and routines.
