When is a right time to lead from the front? Nelson Mandela famously recommended “you take the frontline when there is danger.” Until joining Amgen over two years ago, I hadn’t thought nearly enough about my LDL or “bad” cholesterol, despite it being one of the most impactful modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease. During the last couple of years, it has been a privilege to drive LDL-C awareness and action with colleagues from organizations including American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, Family Heart Foundation, National Lipid Association, Baim Institute for Clinical Research, Cardiometabolic Center Alliance, Duke Clinical Research Institute driven by the shared heartfelt desire to make a meaningful impact on heart disease. These wonderful colleagues inspired me to take action on my own LDL-C and join the #CheckLDL testing challenge. Proud to have brought it down to American College of Cardiology recommendations working with my doctor! Do you know your LDL-C? If not, please get tested this #cholesterolmonth. Proud of my Amgen colleagues who have worked tirelessly to expand our no cost cholesterol testing program. Visit https://amgen.ly/checkldl to get more info on how to get a free LDL-C test. Be sure to talk to your doctor about your results. There’s no better time to lead from the front! #MyCompany

Feeling inspired about the future of cardiovascular care following the LDL-C Action Summit and LATTICE™ Consortium meetings at European Society of Cardiology’s #ESCCongress, which provided opportunities to reflect on the collective force of Amgen and each participating organization. These numbers tell a powerful story of the incredible progress we’ve made in over a year. Together, we are paving the way for a healthier tomorrow as we continue to drive innovation and pursue our bold ambition to halve the number of heart attacks and strokes in the U.S. by 2030. Thank you American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, Family Heart Foundation, National Lipid Association, Baim Institute for Clinical Research, Partnership To Advance Cardiovascular Health, National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention, WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, Quest Diagnostics, Kaiser Permanente, Stanford University School of Medicine, Duke Clinical Research Institute, University of Colorado School of Medicine, Yale School of Medicine, Summa Health, Cardiometabolic Center Alliance, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School for your unwavering dedication to improving patient care and your focus on bending the curve in cardiovascular disease. #MyCompany
It’s been one year since Amgen established its bold ambition to cut the number of heart attacks and strokes in half by 2030. Since then, our work with leading researchers, healthcare professionals, and community organizations has driven innovation, produced results, and continues to help transform cardiovascular care. As we head to European Society of Cardiology’s #ESCCongress in London, we remain focused on this goal and its potential to improve care for patients. 🔗 Learn more about our progress: https://amgen.ly/3MtBHs1
