About us

Balance Period is a wellness and health equity firm that focuses on generational wellness [passing down healthy habits from one generation to the next]. We are here to help create a world where generational wellness is accessible to everyone. We empower professionals to prevent burnout, promote longevity, and create generational wellness. We do this in 3 ways: Education, Equipment, Execution Education: We produce a weekly podcast and newsletter that's designed to expand our awareness of how to maintain optimal mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, environmental, and financial well-being. Equipment: We equip professionals with a Sustainable Self-Care System* so they can feel good, function at their best, and create generational wellness. *a series of daily habits one practices to promote optimal mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Execution: We provide Accountability Coaching to help ensure that the professionals we serve stay consistent and disciplined as they align their mindset, motivation, and habits with their values and goals.     Breast cancer continues to disproportionately affect women of color. Despite advancements in treatment, racial disparities persist in mortality rates and diagnosis of aggressive subtypes. Factors contributing to these disparities include: ➡️Limited access to healthcare ➡️Social determinants of health ➡️Biological factors Addressing these disparities requires: ➡️Improved access to healthcare ➡️Early detection efforts ➡️Increased investment in research ➡️Addressing social determinants of health To ensure equitable care, it's crucial to increase Black women's representation in breast cancer clinical trials.     Understanding Heart Attacks: Recognizing the Signs and Taking Action Heart attacks can be a terrifying experience, but recognizing the early signs is crucial for seeking timely medical attention. While chest pain is often associated with heart attacks, it's important to know that other symptoms can also occur. These may include: ➡️Body pains: Pain in the shoulder, back, neck, throat, jaw, or upper abdomen ➡️Sweating: Excessive sweating, especially cold sweats or clammy skin ➡️Fatigue: Unusual tiredness or exhaustion ➡️Shortness of breath: Difficulty breathing or feeling breathless Lightheadedness or dizziness: Feeling faint or dizzy ➡️Heart palpitations: Irregular heartbeat or a feeling of your heart pounding ➡️Indigestion or nausea: Discomfort in the stomach or feeling nauseous It's important to note that these symptoms can vary from person to person. Women, in particular, may experience different symptoms than men, such as lower abdominal pain and night sweats. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek immediate medical attention. A heart attack is a medical emergency, and early treatment can significantly improve your chances of survival. Remember: Don't ignore these warning signs. Act quickly and seek help.
