Throwback to the New York City Harbor Siphon Project At Ballard Marine Construction, we excel at tackling complex infrastructure projects. One of our most challenging endeavors was the New York City Harbor Siphon, a 2,900-meter (1.8-mile) undersea tunnel from Staten Island to Brooklyn, completed with a Robbins Slurry TBM. This critical project replaced outdated shallow water lines and supported the deepening of New York Harbor for larger, eco-friendly cargo vessels. Our team provided essential hyperbaric expertise and coordinated compressed air workers. Despite Superstorm Sandy flooding the tunnel and jobsite, Ballard quickly helped restore operations and kept the project on track. Working under 8 bar (94 PSI) of pressure, we delivered hyperbaric interventions and confined space diving until the project's successful completion in 2015. What sets Ballard apart? Our ability to combine cutting-edge technology, resilience, and safety to overcome even the toughest challenges. #ThrowbackProject #NYCHarborSiphon #BallardMarineConstruction #TunnelBoringMachine #NYInfrastructure #HyperbaricServices

𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 At Ballard Marine Construction, we pride ourselves on delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure projects that make a real difference in our communities. One of our standout projects was supporting the King County Brightwater WWTP Outfall, a crucial component of the Brightwater Wastewater Treatment and Conveyance System in Washington state. This impressive system includes 13 miles of underground tunnels, carrying wastewater from the plant and delivering highly treated effluent to Puget Sound. 🌊 Ballard’s team deployed cutting-edge technology and specialized expertise to complete this challenging project. Deploying a heavy work-class ROV from a 110-foot Support Vessel, our crews worked to install and position the outfall structure on the seafloor in water depths of up to 600 feet. The project didn’t stop there—our hyperbaric support division provided critical services for over three years, enabling safe tunneling operations with 1,096 hyperbaric interventions at 6 bar. We applied a full suite of underwater and marine solutions to help deliver this project for King County in Shoreline, WA—showcasing our ability to tackle difficult site conditions and environmentally sensitive areas. Why partner with Ballard? Because we bring specialized solutions, advanced technology, and a safety-first mindset to every job—no matter how deep the dive or complex the task. #ThrowbackProject #MarineConstruction #BrightwaterProject #EngineeringExcellence #HyperbaricServices #UnderwaterConstruction #PugetSound #BallardMarineConstruction #KingCounty #InfrastructureDevelopment #WaterManagement

𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝗧𝗖𝗚 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 Our Bridges to Prosperity team, originally set to travel to Rwanda at the beginning of October to build the Akabogobogo Bridge, has postponed the trip to next year. This decision was made due to travel disruptions from Hurricane Helene and concerns over potential exposure to a recent Marburg Virus outbreak. All donations will carry over to support the new build date. We remain driven to return to Rwanda and complete this important project. Thank you for your continued support.
