🎉🎉 Celebrating 9 Remarkable Years! 🎉🎉   This week marks the 9th anniversary of Banfield Foundation, and what a journey it’s been! Over the years, we’ve granted more than $22M to make preventive care possible for the pets that need it most. 🐾✨   Our grants have made a significant impact:   ✈ Care Knows No Boundaries: Our CKNB program breaks down geographic barriers to care by deploying teams of volunteer veterinarians and certified veterinary technicians to help deliver care to the vulnerable pets. From Native American Reservations in Alaska, Arizona, New Mexico, Montana, and South Dakota to the island of Puerto Rico and Saipan, more than 165 volunteers have provided care to 32,000 pets in under-resourced communities in need of veterinary support where there is none.   🐱 Community Care Grants: We strive to make veterinary care affordable and accessible for pets in need. That’s why we have funded medical supplies and services for animal shelters with on-site, mobile, or pop-up clinics helping 604,000 pets across the country.   🌩 Disaster Relief Grants: We’re committed to assisting nonprofit partners in providing crucial support to pets impacted by natural and other disasters, granting $1.8 million in financial and in-kind support for veterinary care, food, medication, supplies, and transportation of pets to safety.   🐶 HOPE Funds: Helping Overcome Pet Emergencies—or HOPE Funds- offers financial assistance for income-qualified pet owners facing life-threatening conditions. We have helped provide financial support to the owners of 1,409 pets by helping them overcome financial barriers and ensure they can provide and care for their pet.   Our nine-year milestone is a testament to the incredible Banfield Foundation team, dedicated partners, and passionate supporters. But this is just the beginning! Stay tuned for some exciting developments and new initiatives that will help us make an even bigger impact. Here’s to the next chapter in making #abetterworldforpets. 🧡   #banfieldfoundation #banfieldgivesback #endingpethomelessness #proudlymars

📍Saipan — a U.S. commonwealth with approximately 21,000 stray dogs and exactly zero veterinarians… Yesterday was Banfield Foundation’s 9th anniversary and we celebrated by sending an ER Criticalist DVM and CVT to Saipan to spend two weeks caring for as many dogs (and cats) as possible! Supporting nonprofits like Saipan Humane Society (and its founder Lauren Cabrera) was the vision when we launched the Foundation in 2015 — more care, more pets, more places! And I’m especially proud we’re finding new ways to do it…this year we’re hosting three Mars Ambassaor Program (MAP) assignments in Saipan — sending three rounds of veterinary teams from Banfield Pet Hospital and VCA Animal Hospitals to spay/neuter, diagnose, treat, educate, train and in some cases end painful and unnecessary suffering. It’s only been one day we’ve already cared for 40 pets with complex medical issues including 📸 a horrific necrotic mouth; an abdominal mast cell tumor; ascites and liver cancer, severe wounds + new mama waiting for a long overdue spay. PS. We’ve also granted nearly $23M since 2015 — and I’m very grateful for every dollar and every donor that has helped us remove geographic barriers and create #abetterworldforpets #marsambassadorprogram #banfieldfoundation #vca #banfield #proudlymars #endingpethomelessness

Two days on the Zuni Pueblo Reservation in New Mexico and we’ve already cared for more than 350 pets (and we’ve got two more days to go)! 🏜️🐾🚐🧡 + Look at the new spay / neuter surgery truck — the vehicle, lovingly named Halona, means “Community” or “Happy Place” in Zuni. 🫶😍 As always, a huge thank you to our incredible partners + all our amazing volunteers from Banfield Pet Hospital + the #zunipueblo Rangers + our donors for making this work possible! More than 4,500 services to 952 pet patients at Operation Border Health Preparedness 2024 — Texas’ largest disaster preparedness event enabling free veterinary care (and human health care) to families in under-resourced communities. This work took nearly 100 faculty and veterinary students from the Texas A&M University Veterinary Emegency Team (VET) as well as volunteers from the veterinary community including two Banfield Foundation CVTs from Banfield Pet Hospital. 🙌🙌 We’re proud to (once again) provide support to our partners at TAMU VET through the funding of medical supplies, vaccines and flea tick preventives to ensure pets receive the preventive care they need! Incredible work TAMU + all the volunteers who made this work possible! 👏👏 #banfieldfoundation #banfieldgivesback #banfieldpethospital #tamu #abetterworldforpets #proudlymars

Last August, GREENIES donated $50,000 to the Banfield Foundation to provide critical veterinary dental care and services for pets in need, like Casper. When Casper’s owner was unable to cover the cost of a necessary extraction, these funds made the difference. We are so grateful for this partnership to help support stories (and smiles!) like Casper’s. We love bringing care to communities in need — thanks to the Banfield Foundation x Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) mobile unit, this past weekend, more than 100 pets received free care belonging to pet owners in the Douglass Homes - Housing Authority of Baltimore City. This free clinic was possible through our donors who funded the medical supplies, our partners at BARCS as well as the amazing volunteers from the local Baltimore Banfield Pet Hospital teams — THANK YOU! 🙌 #banfieldfoundation #banfieldgivesback #abetterworldforpets #proudlymars

One of the many great things about Banfield being proudly part of Mars is the incredible opportunity to join a global community committed to driving positive change. This is embodied in the Mars Ambassador Program (MAP), a signature Mars volunteer program that empowers Associates to volunteer their time and skills to help nonprofit organizations advance their mission. By aligning with our business priorities and purpose, MAP ensures that the skills and expertise of our Associates are applied in ways that not only support these organizations but also align with our core values and strategic goals. We’re thrilled to share that 14 Banfield Associates have been selected for MAP assignments this year! Our charitable arm, the Banfield Foundation is co-hosting and funding assignments in Arizona, Hawaii and – new this year – Saipan. We also have Associates headed to Ghana and India. We can’t wait to share details and photos from their travels later this year. Congratulations to all the Ambassadors! #ProudlyMars #BanfieldFoundation #BanfieldGivesBack Mars Mars Veterinary Health Banfield Foundation Kim Van Syoc Arizona Humane Society Kauai Humane Society Humane Society International

Today’s #accesstocare work on📍Navajo Nation… The state of animal welfare is heartbreaking right now — and so is human welfare. Which is why we spend weekend(s) going community-to-community, door-to-door bringing care across the Navajo Reservation, meeting the needs of people who desperately want to meet the needs of their pets. In addition to the Banfield Foundation x Parker Project mobile unit enabling free care and spay and neuter services, we’re currently working with — and funding — RedRover to unchain animals, build fences, provide shelter, clean water, food (and toys) for the most vulnerable populations of dogs and cats. And as always, we’ve brought our most valuable resources — Banfield Foundation and BluePearl Cares volunteer veterinarians and technicians to support our partners, pets and the people who love them. Thank you to our volunteers from BluePearl Pet Hospital and Royal Canin + our own field clinic manager, Lacey Frame, who wakes up every single day with the sole purpose of making #abetterworldforpets. #banfieldfoundation #bluepearlcares #endingpethomelessness #proudlymars

Until next time Zuni Pueblo — it’s been an honor to serve your pets and your people! 🏜️ Three days, 145 surgeries and 100 wellness appointments = long hours, a lot of teamwork, and less unwanted puppies and kittens! A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers from Banfield Pet Hospital and BluePearl Pet Hospital including Banfield’s own Stacie Kite who performed nearly 85 surgeries on her own! 💪💪 Thank you to our amazing partners at Humane Society of Tulsa for always showing up for pets in need no matter the location! And to our donors = thank YOU for making this work possible! 🧡 #banfieldfoundation #accesstocare #endingpethomelessness #proudlymars

Last night was a very good night…🏆🥂🤩 What an absolute honor to be named Urban Resource Institute’s 2024 PALS Animal Champion at its 10th anniversary celebration last night and receive recognition for doing what we do best — helping pets and the people who love them. Over the last five years, Banfield Foundation has granted more than $1M to increase awareness about the link between domestic violence and pets + we helped increase the number of pet-friendly domestic violence shelters across the U.S. Two of our #banfieldfoundation grants included work with Nathaniel Fields and Urban Resource Institute in New York City — a city where #domesticviolence accounts for 1:5 homicides and 2:5 reported assaults. Today, a Banfield Foundation Pet Park exists in two URI pet-friendly domestic violence shelters, one in the Queens and one in the Bronx — a borough with the highest female homicide. Our secure pet parks mean more safe spaces for pets and people to play freely and without fear and more days to live (and love) safer together. Thank you to our amazing grants manager, Lane LaPlante, for graciously accepting this amazing award and always advocating for those who need the most help. ✨🧡🐾 #abetterworldforpets #domesticviolenceawareness #proudlymars
