"Sometimes in these situations, people engage in emotional behaviors with financial consequences, such as revenge spending or spending money to try and make yourself feel better because you're going through this horrible thing," said Kimberly Bridges, director of financial planning at BOK Financial. We are proud to support equitable arts education in partnership with Dallas Symphony Orchestra and wish these students much success. “This program exemplifies Bank of Texas’ Education pillar of giving,” said Michelle George, senior regional community relations manager for Dallas. “We believe that music is for everyone, and a great music education paves the way for a lifetime of success in the arts or otherwise.”
The DSO is thrilled to share that Bank of Texas has adopted the Kim Noltemy Young Musicians site at Ascher Silberstein Elementary! Bank of Texas celebrated its adoption with a special visit to the site earlier this month with DSO Ross Perot President & CEO, Michelle Miller Burns. Young Musicians site adoption signifies a substantial commitment to the positive impact of access to free musical instruments and orchestra training provided through the program, and the DSO is grateful to Bank of Texas for its incredible partnership to transform the lives of young students in Dallas. Founded in 2019 and celebrating its fifth anniversary in the 2024/25 season, The Kim Noltemy Young Musicians program serves students in grades 1-11 with up to 12 hours a week of after-school ensemble instruction at five sites, including three Dallas ISD school sites and two community partner sites at Trinity Basin Preparatory and Owenwood Farm & Neighbor Space. The program, serving students in Southern and East Dallas, utilizes the El Sistema framework, a system of music education founded in Venezuela in 1975 striving to bring students and communities together to create music as a positive force for social and emotional development and change. Join us in thanking Bank of Texas for its support of the DSO's Young Musicians! To learn more about the Kim Noltemy Young Musicians program, please visit https://bit.ly/45qud0i.
