Key improvements include a new restroom, new walking trails, landscaping, pavilions, expanded parking, and upgraded lighting. Sr. VP, Director at Barge Design Solutions, Inc.

Over the past two weeks, hurricanes Helene and Milton have inflicted devastating and unprecedented damage across the Southeast.    We commend our team members who have generously volunteered and contributed their time, money, and resources to support affected communities. As information continues to surface regarding the aftermath of these storms and the affected communities begin their difficult journeys toward recovery, Barge’s “inherent spirit of giving back to the communities where we live and work,” called us to take action as a company.    To that end, I am proud to share that the Barge Community Fund was able to allocate $100,000 to support relief efforts.    With the help of clients, employees, and state agencies, the committee identified seven 501(c)(3) organizations across Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina to support. These entities are focused on various recovery efforts in affected areas, including the communities where many of our team members live and work.     Florida  Florida Disaster Fund – Volunteer Florida: $25,000  The Florida Disaster Fund is the State of Florida’s official private fund created to aid communities in response and recovery following emergency or disaster.     Georgia  Community Foundation for the Central Savannah River Area - Hurricane Helene Community Crisis Fund: $10,000  The Community Foundation for the CSRA partners with nonprofit organizations to mobilize donations and provide immediate relief, short-term recovery, and long-term rebuilding.    Second Harvest of South Georgia: $7,500  Second Harvest of South Georgia is a hunger relief organization that is currently accepting donations to provide food to hurricane victims, refuel trucks, and rent generators.    Lowndes Associated Ministries to People: $7,500  Lowndes Associated Ministries to People is a community-based organization dedicated to supporting individuals facing homelessness.    Tennessee  AIDNET – Greene County Disaster Relief Fund: $5,000  AIDNET of Greene County is coordinating resources and monetary donations for the long-term recovery of Greene County following the catastrophic flooding brought on by Hurricane Helene.    East Tennessee Foundation – Disaster Relief Fund: $20,000  This fund is being used exclusively to support nonprofits and agencies that are responding to damage in East Tennessee and focusing on long-term recovery.    South Carolina  One SC Fund – Disaster Relief: $25,000  One SC Fund is a statewide initiative that grants 99% of monetary donations to local nonprofits providing disaster relief and recovery in South Carolina following Hurricane Helene.
