Safety Zone: Toolbox Talk for Safety Data Sheets To ensure proper chemical safety in the workplace, information about the identities and hazards of all chemicals must be made available and written clearly for all employees. As part of OSHA’s Standard, chemical manufacturers and importers are required to evaluate the hazards of the chemicals they produce or import and prepare labels and safety data sheets to convey all hazard information. #OSHA #ChemicalSafety #SafetyZone

This weekend the MBTA Signals Improvements Project will be installing new infrastructure on the Orange Line's Southwest Corridor, but first I want to recognize our excellent Integrated Transit Programs Team on signals work that was completed two weekends ago. Barletta Heavy Division, Inc. crews advanced the project by installing a total of six switch machines at Chinatown and at Back Bay, along with related cabling and other infrastructure, while also completing important work to help out the Track Improvement Program Team. These switch machine replacements will allow us to transition to the new signal system on this section of the Orange Line once testing and cutover is complete. I want to specifically recognize our Integrated Transit Programs (formerly Capital Transformation) Team for their ongoing commitment to this project: Project Manager, Zeyb Zubairy, Senior Project Coordinator Natasha White, MPA, as well as Pete Heisey, P.E., and Resident Engineers Aldrich Mendes & Lamu Chanthavang, among many others who support the work! Continued Engineering & Maintenance support from Megan Chann and her Team, Operations support from Ryan Coholan's & Deirdre Habershaw's Team, plus support from our colleagues in Capital Programs under our fearless leader Sam Zhou, all help us to bring this across the finish line for our riders! Thanks, everyone! We're looking forward to another successful weekend coming up.

Erosion Control: Protecting Our Job Sites and the Environment 🌍 Erosion may seem like a natural process, but if not properly managed, it can have serious consequences—water pollution, soil loss, and even structural damage. Why Erosion Control Matters: 1. Protects Water Quality 🏞️: Keeps sediment out of rivers, lakes, and oceans. 2. Prevents Soil Loss 🌱: Preserves vital topsoil for vegetation. 3. Reduces Flood Risks 🌧️: Manages stormwater and prevents flooding. 4. Safeguards Infrastructure 🏗️: Prevents costly damage to roads, bridges, and buildings. Barletta’s Best Management Practices (BMPs): ✅ Vegetative Cover: Roots stabilize soil and slow down runoff. ✅ Hydroseeding: Hydroseeding protects soil from erosion. ✅ Erosion Control Blankets: Biodegradable materials protect slopes until plants grow. ✅ Silt Fences: Temporary barriers trap sediment on-site. ✅ Check Dams & Sediment Basins: Slows water flow and allows sediment to settle. Maintaining BMPs: 🔍 Regular Inspections ⚒️ Timely Repairs 🌿 Healthy Vegetation At Barletta, we take erosion control seriously and ensure our projects remain safe and environmentally friendly.🌎 #ErosionControl #EnvironmentalProtection #Sustainability #BestPractices

Make it Happen Monday: We are thrilled to announce that the MBTA Winchester Center Station has partially reopened for commuter rail service as of October 1, 2024! The partial opening includes the main station headhouses south of Waterfield Road and the station’s southeast ramp. The southeast of the station will assist all passengers riding both inbound and outbound and will be fully accessible. Upon the partial opening, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey offered, "This Winchester station will make it easier for residents to get to and from where they need to go and for visitors to access the area." And noted, “Our administration is proud to support the work the MBTA is doing to make our public transportation system more reliable and accessible and improve quality of life for the people we serve.” Full opening of the station is anticipated for Spring 2025! Thank you to the hard-working men and women of Barletta, the MBTA, Saugus Construction, Fischbach & Moore Electric Group, LLC., and Delta Elevator as together we are improving the lives of Winchester’s residents and visitors!
