Performing water tests is an integral part of the job...getting a sense as to where and how water is entering the building is crucial to mitigating future water intrusion. With the information in hand, a repair design that is practical and constructable, can be created and put into place. Getting to that point, however; can be akin to watching paint dry.

Quite the view this morning working with Steven Dowdy and the Lawless Restoration crew opening up some areas of masonry to find out what is going on. #buildingenvelope #masonry #forensics

Performing a survey for a client on Beacon Hill. Came across these brick units with numbers scribed into them. The building was erected in the early 1900s (don't hold me to that). Does anyone have an idea as to what these numbers represent? #brickmasonry #masonry #buildingconsulting

Very cool stuff!
A new video featuring Ames Construction paving miles of concrete pavement in Texas is on YouTube! The Ames concrete paving operation, including its batch plant, is entirely mobile and can work anywhere in America. The train moves roughly six feet per minute, leaving a perfect 10” slab behind, requiring minimal finishing. Thanks to UTS (universal total station), the paver runs without physical guides. You can find the video by searching “Aaron Witt” on YouTube or click the link here https://lnkd.in/gEfEpDTZ And yeah—they’re hiring. Check out the Ames website to apply. #betterdirtworld
